I had food here many times. Like Poke bowl, shrimp tempura, ramen and more. They were quite okay for the taste but compare to the price might seem pricey for the quality of food and how they put in the plates – like just smash ingredients randomly. Anyway, the staffs were so nice and eating them in the food court was quite a good experience.

Gekko has a spot in Politan Row at Ashford Lane along with a food truck that had frequented my office park. I had unpleasant experiences at both. At Politan Row, the tablet upfront to order is missing 70% of the menu. It only included hibachi and “popular” items (in my observation, it looked like ‘easier’ items to prepare). The 1 worker in the entire stall ignored me and was visibly behind by 3+ orders. When she finally came over, she didn’t greet me or add anything to the conversation and just took my order. I ordered 1 spicy tuna roll and 1 steak bao. It took over 20 minutes and my group of friends who ordered from other food vendors were halfway finished with their meals.
My sushi came out as a bland roll on a white round dinner plate with a stale glob of wasabi and pale ginger. The roll had nothing except the tuna and it was uneven and messy. The bao was even more insulting as it was a frozen bun that was “steamed” and then their hibachi meat was stuffed inside with some lettuce and really runny mayo sauce. It was not an authentic bao by any means and it was crazy overpriced to pay $9 for a measly bao with terrible bread.
For the food truck, it cost over $18 for a jam-packed bowl mostly of rice, uneven cut veggies, and very tough meat. I had ordered chicken and it was cooked to death and oversauced in sweetness.
I’d pass on Gekko all around, I’ve had better experiences at mall food courts’ Asian stalls.

Ordered the steak and chicken hibachi bowl for lunch on a Sunday. Huge portion, delicious sauce, perfectly steamed veggies and rice. Very quick and excellent service all in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend visiting this spot in Politan Row

This food is very bland. Friendly staff, but the food has no flavor. The rice is just plain and white. The only seasoning is a black d teriyaki sauce. I’m so disappointed. Visually it looks good, large services but it sucks. No taste at all. Very disappointed. If you’re not into taste and seasoning it’s a great buy, a bowl of bland.

The taste of the teppanyaki is really great. Especially after adding the delicious sauce, it’s extremely tasty. The portion is very generous and it’s really a good deal. One person can hardly finish it. The service is excellent. They greet you warmly every time you pass by.

The service was horrible. To add salt to the fire, my salmon was raw. The girl said “yeah, everything with an asterisk is raw.” I ask her where is that evident on the menu that everything with an asterisk is raw. She brushes it off and asks if I want them to cook the salmon. I told her do not worry about it and I’ll do the chicken hibachi with fried rice instead. The portion size was nice and it wasn’t bad. However, the service was a real turn off for me.

Had a phenomenal chicken hibachi here. Politan Row is a fantastic location for attending the symphony. Atmosphere is a nice calm party atmosphere. Really great place.
The food at Gekko, from.my experience, was phenomenal. The chicken hibachi was perfect. Large portions. Fresh and flavorful without the greasy aftertaste. Highly recommend.

The food is a 0/10 for me. The worse ramen I’ve ever had. The noodles were overcooked and clumped together, the broth lacked flavor, the corn taste like it was poured straight out the can and the egg was hard boiled. I could have made something better at home. The bao buns are hard and stale . I took it back because I couldn’t bite through it and it was softer but still stale and hard. Saw other people bringing their food back as well.

I was excited to get Ramen because I love it so much. When we went to purchase it, the service was extremely poor. I went for it anyway because again I was excited for Ramen. Upon receiving the food, it did not appear to be vegan at all. The vegetables tasted off and the broth was clearly not vegan. When I went to take it back, I got a “ head nod” and no acknowledgment. This is why they have this review!

So we actually came here twice. First time we came for some ramen and it tasted worse than packaged ramen. It tasted like it didn’t have any salt in it. They also rung up the order wrong and also didn’t give us our food to-go even though they asked us multiple times if we wanted it to-go or not. This would’ve been fine at a busy time, but it was 11am and there were maybe one or two other people waiting for food. After all of this we decided to give it a second try as the hibachi looked good. Not my best idea. The rice was undercooked and had hard parts in it. Now it was better than the ramen, but still pretty bad for the price and compared to other food places in this establishment. The yum-yum sauce is actually bad as well and should be yuck-yuck sauce and their eel sauce is lacking flavor. Do yourself a favor and go to the taco station right next to here.
