We came here to celebrate my birthday with my husband and his parents. They’re half German, which is why I chose this place. I wanted it to bring back beautiful memories of authentic German food. And it absolutely did. We loved it!

Every dish we ordered truly hit our taste buds. They even said it tasted very authentic, which made the experience even more special. We ended the evening trying German beers and sharing five different cakes, each one was stunning and delicious. It was such a fun and memorable night.

Our server (I wish I remembered her name!) was incredibly sweet. The service was fast, attentive, and thoughtful throughout the evening.

We had such a comfortable and joyful experience, and we will definitely be coming back.

Wow! Wish we lived in CO Springs to be able to eat here all the time! From the moment we walked in the door, the adorably-decorated restaurant drew us in and made us feel at home. Truly, we felt like we were at my grandmas house with the cozy atmosphere, unbelievably friendly and courteous staff, and the delicious food. The menu is ample and authentic, and even the kids’ menu was outstanding with many options, both American-classic kid-pleasers and German-Authentic as well. Everything we ordered was incredible (and don’t pass on the homemade pastries & cakes that are by the front- they were all to die for)!
But best of all was “Suzie Squeezebox,” a very gifted accordion player who walked around playing all sorts of tunes from traditional polka, Disney classics, CCR, Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and many many more. We are a musical family, and she had us grinning, singing, and even our kids weren’t embarrassed by us gaily singing along! She was fun and upbeat, joking with customers as she multi-tasked by all the intricate notes coming out of her accordion.
We want to make a special trip back to CO Springs just to be able to experience this again!

So my perspective is influenced by 6 years in Germany, but I would say overall, Edelweiss is pretty dang good. This was one of he few places in the States (restaurant, especially) where I could find a Kellerbier style beer, and the Weihenstephaner on tap was very good. The pre-meal roll (brötchen) was mediocre at best–very dry and lacking anything satisfying. The gulasch, on the other hand, once I got past the surprise of it not being served as a stew, was actually very delicious, and the spätzle was also quite good. The setting/ambience of the place I’d give a 7.5/10 as far as authenticity. As far as the service goes, no complaints — they were super lovely. Overall, I’d recommend it.

Food was OK. The only thing stood out was the boneless pork cutlet. The atmosphere was awesome though. We came on Jan 2nd but there was still Xmas decorations everywhere and we loved it. Very very nice. Their dessert behind glass cabinets along the entrance look so good. Some day if we come back here, that would be just to try the dessert. Look may or may not be deceiving when it comes to food. The one thing we really don’t like is on the bill. They automatically charged $2.5 for “Kitchen appreciation”. WHAT? We have dined at numerous restaurants in the US and around the world but we have never seen anything like that.

After a great hike at the seven bridges, we decided to stop in here for some authentic German food. The decor inside is so charming and the food was both delicious and very fairly priced. Our server was incredibly friendly and we planned a return trip during our first visit. I’d recommend reservations, it seems to fill up.

This is the second time I’ve been here and it’s awesome. Great food, drink, and the staff is fantastic. The place is huge, but gets crowded at dinner, so you should consider making a reservation.
Easy parking on-site.
Atmosphere is fun and cool.

Just go!

This is an awesome restaurant!!! I always enjoy coming here for lunch or dinner after riding the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The waitstaff I had this evening were very polite and on top of their game. I am able to have a leisurely German meal every time I come here. Micaela is very polite and helpful. The food is delicious and always enjoyable one of my favorite dishes is the Hungarian Goulash. The atmosphere is very quaint and authentic. I feel like I am in Germany without having to get on an airplane. I always order the Black Forest Torte to top off every meal and it is delicious. I also enjoyed the very hearty Käsespätzle with ham and it was delicious as well.

My wife and I came here for an 8 year anniversary dinner. I am a huge fan of German food. This place did not disappoint! Phil took great care of us, providing beer and food recommendations, as well as recognized our anniversary. The service from him was top notch. My wife had the wienerschnitzel, which was crisp and thin and the fried potatoes. I had the sauerbraten with the fried potatoes and red cabbage. The red cabbage and the sauerbraten was some of the best I have ever had! Finally, we wrapped up the dinner with a Black Forest torte and a lemon torte. I highly recommend the Black Forest torte! A wonderful experience and when I am in Colorado Springs again I will definitely return here for dinner.

My beautiful Bride and I are in the Springs for a two day tournament and chose Edelweiss for our dinner date. We did make a reservation, since it was suggested.
It was at 5:45 on a Saturday evening. We walked in about five early and were seated right away. We had a very nice cozy corner. There were people in the room, but it was nice for two, quiet and able to have a good conversation.
Our waitress was a tiny lady with a heavy German accent. She reminded me of some of the grandmas back east growing up. Dry and funny sense of humor too, and very efficient!
Keeping with the norm, one plate, two forks, we split an appetizer of Flammkuchen and a Badische Platte.
I also ordered the first of two beers, the Schneider Weisse Aventinus. It was wonderful. To me, it was caramel-like, traditional, smooth and a bit creamy. I wanted another, but then tried the Weihenstephaner 1516 Kellerbier. It was also very smooth, a bit of caramel to me, and very smooth. The Schneider seems a bit heavier, maybe a bit of fruity, but not overwhelming, stronger than the 1516. The 1516 was lighter and a bit more traditional. Both were fantastic!
The Flammkuchen was a mini meal itself. The bits of bacon and mushrooms, sour cream, onions and apples was a combo I was definitely curious about. It was super flavorful, with a melt in your mouth cracker-like crust. Almost hints of butter too. It. Was. Delicious. And filling!
The Badische Platte also had a small pre-meal salad. It has lightly pickled beets, cucumbers, and green beans with a traditional potato salad. They shared a plate but were separated. Each was yummy. The potato salad was not heavy with mayo, but made with it. Moist, sort of a mustard bite. Yummy as well!
We chose the Badische to split since it looked like a hearty sample to experience several classic German dishes at once.
The veal bratwurst, along with the spicy brown mustard was good and probably my favorite. My Bride thought it was okay, but not her favorite of the bunch. The rahmschnitzel was her favorite. The goulash came in third for both of us.
Not to take anything away from them. They were all delicious and worthy on their own.
For the grand finale, desert. Oh my! They offered a torte sampler. German chocolate, Black Forest and Hazelnut. All were yummy. My Bride had the Black Forest as her favorite and I, surprised myself by putting the Hazelnut on top. You can’t go wrong with any of them.
What a great dinner date. Left over-full of good food. Maybe even unlocking a new weight class! Great service. Good beverages. Great company. Thank you for the experience.
