Well, hate to say it but my hometown FRISCH’S in the Northern KY / Greater Cincinnati area are a bit better. I was CRAVING a Swiss Miss sandwich & was THRILLED to have seen a FRISCH’S here in Toledo – I had no idea ! I ordered & got a sandwich on a small, white bun. My waitress, Felicity, said they changed the bun from the RYE bun to this. I actually got a small Big Boy. THE Coleslaw was the same & DELICIOUS!! The ONION RINGS ROCKED !! Overall, I’d dine here again. I’ll try the “NorthWest-Ohio-style” of Buddie Boy next visit. FRISCH’S ISN’T CHEAP, but THE FOOD IS UNIQUE & WORTH EVERY PENNY – even on a non-rye bun. Haha

Stopped in here with my wife & kids this past late July for a very late dinner on a road trip back to the Chicago area returning from a week vacation in Eastern PA.

We had just checked into the nearby Hampton Inn and we were all extremely hungry so hey why not. Marked the very first time trying a BIG Boy and we rather liked it.

Does bare some similarity to Denny’s with an all around-type menu and the food is pretty good here. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s something to write home about but I thought it was worth the price.

Dining room was clean and the person who seated us was also our server who made our first experience here a grand one. Sydney was very kind, welcoming and informative about the menu.

I don’t know about the rest of IL outside the Chicagoland area but sadly we don’t have any BIG Boy locations anywhere near where we live.

If ever on a similar road trip again, maybe we’ll stop back in here. Good food indeed but it was the shining customer service that definitely convinces me to wanna come back. Hope for years of continued boomin’ business for the owner(s).

I ordered the special of the month, BLT and fries.
My bacon was burnt an extra extra crispy I only ate half then threw the bacon away and only ate LT. this is the first time I was so disappointed in my order. I’ve never had a problem with my order. I ordered at the drive thru

The food was amazing. The service? Not so great. I was greeted by a sweet woman at the drive thru. I asked her what came on the big boy sandwich as I don’t live near here and haven’t been to one in years. She started to explain what was on the sandwich and was cut off by an older lady who was very rude. I asked her a few questions and was answered with shortness and hostility. She would cut me off and treat me as if I was dumb for not knowing the things I was asking. When I pulled up to the window, the original woman who started taking my order greeted me and was very sweet. I asked her if she was the one who took my order and she did not. I let her know that whoever did, was very rude and I didn’t appreciate it. She was very kind and understanding when I explained this to her.

I hadn’t had Frisch’s in quite a while. The salad was disappointing. Tomatoes tasted old, and the lettuce was shredded as if for the sandwiches. The Big Boy was good.
The waitress was very pleasant and the dining area was full of holiday cheer.

Don’t go here!!!!!
I’m very surprised this place could stay open. If ever a place looked like death warmed over this is it If it wasn’t for the kindness of the waitress I probably would’ve left. I had a nostalgic craving for a big boy which was served lukewarm, and onion rings that were just barely cooked took a bite realized they were still doughy raw and sent them back. And what did they do but take my basically raw onion rings and drop them in the fruer to re-cook them I think that violates restaurant health safety for food cross contamination? their cook either needs to be fired or retrain.

I got a takeout order for a side salad and mashed potatoes. The shredded cheese on the side salad had mold on it. The mashed potatoes flavor was good, but they were very thick and hardened, like they sat for a while.

Stayed at hotel next door. Was excited to see the big boy. Already had dinner but stopped in for burger only (no sides). Delicious. Service by “woman” was excellent and most helpful. Happy to see this company support people in Trans community especially in OH. Will be happy to stop back.

Overcharged for the turkey club sandwich which was three thin slices of unsavory processed meat. Fries seemed to be taken straight out of precut frozen fries which was undercooked, overcooked chicken nuggets.
Would never recommend this place, best to go up the road to Nick’s Family Cafe, where real fresh fries are served.

Have been a fan of this Big Boy for years, great for seniors and I am one of them. Prices are very reasonable and you can order small orders. They always have a special for $7.00.
