I’m so glad I came in for brunch/lunch. This is a pretty spot with really good food and drink options. I ordered a Smoking Bishop. I watched the bartender smoking it at the bar. It looks like a tiny whiskey cask with a hose funnelling the smoke to the drink and a cover to keep in the smoke. Aside from seeing it (because it’s pretty cool tbh), I didn’t find it tasted smokey at all, not even a hint. It was tasty but I’ll opt for something else next time. I’ve been able to really get that smoked whiskey flavor elsewhere but I’m not sure what their process was.
We also had an Italian soda – lychee flavor, it was a bit sweeter than expected but full of flavor. We enjoyed the lobster croissant, it had great flavor. I’d love to come back and try a few other things too.

Had the most amazing brunch here on Sunday! The Chorizo Benedict was absolutely perfect, and everything we ordered was outstanding. It’s easy to see why reservations are recommended for brunch – the food, atmosphere, and service were all top-notch. The fall and Halloween decorations made the place feel so cozy and festive. We also tried the creme brulee, and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to come back.

Atmosphere and people were awesome and attentive. Unfortunately should’ve listened to the reviews I heard about their tacos because I was Highly disappointed. $14 for 2 chicken tacos and the Tortilla they use is completely gross. Bad tasting and can’t hold anything in it. Chicken was seasoned nicely, but the presentation was terrible.

Very friendly servers, fair prices, good food, and nice environment! Recommend calling ahead for reservations, especially for weekend brunch hours, as space inside is small.

Got the brunch burger (best I ever had) and some fancy apple drinks from the fall menu. Both were amazing! But the service from the 2 bartenders on Sundays is always the best part. Trevor and Devin are top tier and always provide the greatest entertainment

The menu at MJ’s is a delightful whirlwind of global influences, blending unexpected twists on classics with bold, inventive dishes that keep things fresh and exciting.
Think Korean-inspired tacos stuffed with tender short rib and kimchi slaw, or a Thai basil stir-fry featuring local heirloom veggies and plump shrimp, all layered with herbs and spices that pack a punch.
But let’s talk about that terrace-it’s the crown jewel. Perched riverside, it offers panoramas of the water’s gentle flow, especially during sunset. MJ’s isn’t just a restaurant it’s a vibe and must go when in Owego.

Excellent service and there is such a nice waterside view through the window; would love to sit outside next time. The Japanese cheese fritters were crisp and hot and good dipped in the aioli. Maybe could use even more cheese and jalapeño inside. The banh mi was good, as was the crème brûlée! The bananas foster cheesecake had flavorful layers and was very decadent

I ordered the Cajun Catfish special for dinner and it was amazing. Cooked perfectly. This is one of a few restaurants I don’t leave feeling like I could have made it better myself at home. Excellent chefs and service.

A local gem, serving up fresh food and great service. (We would have sat on the deck overlooking the Susquehanna but the “feels like ” temp was 102.)
There’s something for everyone on the menu. Stating away from carbs, I had the chicken saute, which was flavorful, with grilled chicken and fresh vegetables. The spinach was delicious, buttery with mushrooms and garlic.
Hubby had the cheesesteak which comes with their signature fries topped with seasonings and feta.
Add a couple of cold drafts and it was the perfect lunch.

Having driven all the way from Montreal, in transit to Washington, what a delight this place turned out to be. It doesn’t look much from the outside, but when you open the front door, it seems 10 times bigger. I sat on the patio by the river, jugged down a pint and soaked up the sun while waiting on my Philly steak sandwiche. My meal was tasty, made from fresh local products and served by friendly staff. Way to go Owego !
