Nice lil place my husband found, the seating areas are like an outside patio, we ordered a few appetizers and cocktails. Southwest egg rolls were really good, the boudin balls were crispy and seasoned, loved fries with pulled pork, loved it Our cocktails were delicious.

Ill be very honest, I have never really liked the food here but i keep trying to like it… but the fact that they had a mocktail menu was a huge plus!!! We came and drank and ate for the finale of love island!! One of the girls there went out of her way to put it on and that was so nice of her I really appreciated it!! The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful!! I do think they need to care for their plants more, pruning whats dead and falling off to make the scene look more green and alive, but im just extra!! Other than that, great vibes here and a great place to hang out!!

This was my first time coming to this establishment, and it will probably be my last.

I do not normally leave reviews for restaurants when I go out to eat, but I recieved what can only be described as the worst possible service in all of baton rouge. Our server Eliana did not greet us at our table for the first 20 minutes of being sat, and when we did finally put in an order for two beers and two sandwiches, we did not get our drinks for another 20 minutes. When we did recieve our food, the chicken sandwich was very underwhelming and the burger was practically cold.

I had very high hopes for this restaurant, but I can’t in good honesty recommend going here. It’s a very friendly atmosphere and we were sat relatively quickly, but the food and lack of quality in the servers made this an overall bad experience.

Been wanting to visit this place for a long time finally had the opportunity and mane was I….. disappointed. Besides the water ordered an old fashion mediocre must is say no identity at all. Started with the boudin balls as an appetizer ( well orderd an appetizer which came out with the rest of our order . Bummer! Wife ordered the chicken sandwich with the side of grits. The first bite of chicken sandwich she says it had no flavor . I ordered the sausage biscuit with (honey butter!) and a side of potatoes. Wife did not like the potatoes she mentioned they are dry! Hmm I thought they were pretty good myself had a lil smoky flavor to them . As you can see my biscuit was super dry. I called the waiter over to ask about the SMOKED honey butter , oh I’m sorry we are out of the smoked honey butter ! So here’s a flew slices of lard. Omg a completer horrible experience. Oh almost forgot the boudin balls are amazing came out piping hot a ten in my book ! And the grits were are delicious . The boudin balls and the grits saved the day . Phewww. Complete bummer did we order the wrong things or what. Please explain the long lines.

The food and service have been always good. However, I do not recommend the place if you want to go to watch a football game. Yesterday the restaurant had music for customers, but I couldn’t listen anything about the halftime show of superbowl 2026 because the speaker of the TVs were not working. The place is not nice if you like sports. Its mood is more for a date or something like girls night.

In an age when bar food has given bar food a bad name, Mid City Beer Garden gets the big and small things right when it comes to the food.

We ordered the three dips with chips and what a surprise. First, the chips came to the table hot. So fresh, that they heated up in the air fryer the next day and were still crisp. The cheese dip was awesome A great flavor with a kick. I was so surprised, I asked our waitress Echo – who was awesome – for the secret. Beer. They add beer! If you think it’s a bit thin, get past it and just taste it. There was a generous portion of guacamole and it was very fresh and bright my guess is that there was a decent amount of Lemon in it. It had onion, tomatoe and chunks of avocado. I love guacamole but find most of it boring. The salsa was great because it was very fresh and not too biggest. This things continued meat you tasted all the flavors.

And we’re not even to our entrees yet.

When they came, I went for the fries first. I can’t remember the last time, I had a crispy French fry when eating out. Straight, not floppy. Crunchy on the outside and sift and puffy on the inside. If I had to guess, they cut their own to a very precise thickness and an exact time in the fryer. I’m thinking about getting out my own mandoline and playing around with it myself.

My wife, who has had had more than one Cuban sandwich in her time from Mimi’s grocery in New Orleans, said hers was really good. Best one she’s ever had.

I’m constrained on what I can order because of gluten, so I had the chicken Caesar wrap. It was super crunchy fresh and the blackened chicken was yummy and cooked right. I assume it had a Caesar dressing on it but didn’t taste much. I wish I had ordered some extra on the side.

My wife had the garden witch vodka martini. She gave me a taste and the cucumber and jalapeno paired up nicely. I know I’m focusing a lot on little things, but they really make a difference. There was a piece of cucumber in the glass with bar salt and either smoked paprika or chile powder on it, too. It was really good. What a delight that it played off the flavors in the drink.

You should know, I’m a Moscow Mule snob. It was served in a very skinny small glass, which means it’s hard to get in the lime juice, ginger beer, vodka and ice proportions just right. I like a lot of lime juice and ginger beer and no bar mix. I think it should have been served in a Cooper or mug or bigger glass. Admittedly, I’m being very picky. I inquired about a gluten free or gluten-reduced beer, but there wasn’t one available last night.

It’s awesome to know there’s a place we can go and get a drink and some great food. Mid-City Beer Garden is in our rotation now. You should should consider it for yours, too.

I think any job where the manager is mogging for snap chats on the shift is unserious. The food puts the mid in mid-city, the servers look miserable. The environment is nice. Was greeted right has we sat down, then neglected for 20 minutes. No waters, didn’t even ask for drinks. Also straight up not worth the price
