Southgate Grill is a full service bar and restaurant located near the south gate of Ocean Pines. We offer an indoor and outdoor bar, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. We also have room for private parties. We are known for our family atmosphere, affordable menu and quick, friendly service. Southgate Grill is run by the Reeves family of Salisbury, MD. Mark & Leslie Reeves bought their first restaurant, Market Street Inn, in 1989 where our build-your-own style of menu became popular. They took a family break from 2001 – 2007. Back Street Grill opened in Salisbury in November of 2007 and Southgate Grill in May of 2016. Their children Corey, Gray and Joey now take part in running these two restaurants.

Our party of 3 were seated quickly on a busy Thursday evening. Drinks orders were taken quickly and drinks arrived within minutes. Very nice specials menu. The Reuben was very good and my fish po-boy was just average. We wanted the Smith Island cake for dessert but they were sold out. A little disappointing. Overall good with attentive service.

You’re staying in Ocean City Maryland for a couple days. We figured we’d come to the mainland to try a bar and grill off the island. I like the atmosphere of a place. Very nice you can tell that all the locals seem to come here. The bar was packed and seizing was available quickly. Service is great. The food was good but not quite what I expected. It could have been a little better. The prices were fantastic.

My friends and I found this place by accident and were glad we did. The food was good. The staff were attentive and fantastic. The atmosphere is very nicely done. Very reasonable priced food. Plenty of parking. Right by a nice body of water, which can be enjoyed from eating on the patio. The restaurant was very clean.

Comfortable place with attentive service and great food. Wide selection of options that makes deciding a tough decision. I went with the Maryland Crab Soup, Steak Bowl and Old Bay Wings for an appetizer. Top score for all three. Bar area is great spot for watching sports with almost every angle from any spot covered by a screen. Great place and great food.

I look forward to coming to Southgate every time I visit OC just to get their Maryland Crab soup. It is full of crab and vegetables and very hearty. I even get it to go to take back to PA. Their ingredients are always fresh, and they have a wide range of daily specials. The bar area is usually packed during happy hour, and during the summer months you should go very early or very late for dinner otherwise you will have quite a wait. Sometimes I visit the restaurant twice during my week’s stay in OC. It is a vibrant, happening place with fresh food and a small variety. I definitely recommend trying it at least once.

If I could leave this restaurant more stars, I would. We had a party of 15+. We came in on a random Saturday night after playing softball. A lot of hungry kids, toddlers, & parents. The server Taylor was phenomenal!! She made sure everyone got drinks & that all kids were fed first. (Game changer) the parents did not eat but maybe 5 minutes later. It was the perfect timing. We then had a medical emergency within our party & staff was prompt to help & even notice all the children were a bit uneasy after watching the emergency. The staff was quick to jump & and bring out brownie sundaes (on them) for the kids to get their mind off of the situation.
I could not have loved this place more. And to top it off, the food was amazing. Thank you for a great ending to our Saturday night after a long day!!!

Went here with my husband and two kids.
Broccoli salad looked brown, pasta salad had vegetables in it that did not look fresh at all/ soggy.
Burger was a burger.
Crab cake was flat ..literally flat.. no lump crab meat. Service was fine. Wont be back.

Crab soup and Italan half hogie sandwich combo is always excellent and great value! I can’t say about much else because the combo is soo good, I always get it for lunch! My wife says the crab cakes and Ruban sandwiches are really good as well!
