This is NY pizza! Stumbled onto this place by accident while working in Newport News. At first glance its looks like just another mom and pop pizza joint but wait till you taste it. Perfect texture crust that holds up to fold and eat.

This Northern gal decided to try Joseph’s pizza on a Friday. Why not? Let’s go for it, I thought. I checked the comments which were good…5 rating. I ordered a large Joe special pizza and Tiramisu for delivery at 5pm and was informed of a 40 minute until delivery. At 6pm no pizza, so I called. The worker sounded surprised that I didn’t have the pizza and had to track it down. I believe they used Door Dash for delivery but the delivery girl was discombobulated! She arrived with my pizza at 6:50 using every excuse she could find. Now I know that’s not Joseph’s fault. The owner (i think) graciously offered to send me a new pizza being that the first pizza arrived cold. It arrived in about 30 min. The owner( i think) talked about being from New Jersey, but I’m sorry to say that pizza was NOT! Let’s start with the dough.. thin lacking that NJ texture. The sauce… needs to go… salty and unlike any pizza sauce I have tasted. The toppings… overcooked, possibly canned veggies.. not fresh cut, and definitely not enough toppings. But the kids ate it. Verdict… not New Jersey pizza. Now let’s move onto the Tiramisu.
In PA and NJ you eat at some fabulous restaurants and pizza shops. I’ve had some amazing Tiramisu but this was not one of those times. To sell a Tiramisu claiming it came from a prized bakery up north is like coming back from Atlantic City claiming they have no slot machines. Who makes a quality Tiramisu with no espresso or lady fingers?! The locals may enjoy this place, but I’ll pass. I wish them the best!

Tried the California cheesesteak, and it was really delicious. The meat was nicely seasoned, and the roll was fresh and toasty. I would absolutely get it again.
