I just have to give a huge shoutout to Tiger Belly in Granby, CT because this place deserves all the love. It may look simple and unassuming from the outside, but the food? Spectacular. Easily one of my top ramen spots in Connecticut.
We also tried their sushi/maki rolls and wow—so fresh. You can really taste the quality of the fish and even the avocado. Everything had the right crunch, the right texture, the right flavor. Truly one of the best.
And the service? She’s a one‑woman show—taking orders, serving, clearing tables—and still manages to be attentive, efficient, and genuinely warm. Even with a packed restaurant, she made sure everything stayed clean and everyone felt welcomed. That smile never left her face.
If you’re anywhere near Granby, this spot is absolutely worth the visit.

This place only sells one type of Japanese ramen, and it’s the best in the state.
First off, the broth is rich and creamy. There is an abundance of bouncy noodles that soak up that good broth. The toppings compliment the broth and noodles so well. Finally, they are not shy with their pork belly. It’s huge, slightly sweet and spicy, fatty with umami.
The bao buns. Oh the bao buns. The pork belly is melt in your mouth. The sweetness of the hoisin sauce compliments the saltiness of the pork. But unlike other establishments, this bao is definitely unique. The vegetables are slightly sour, cutting through all the flavours and making it slightly refreshing.
And to top it off, service is quick, tables are clean, and atmosphere is great.
There is a reason why this place is so highly regarded, I guess the only gripe I have is that it’s slightly secluded to the northern part of the state. If only they were a little more south!
Would highly recommend to anyone. Definitely will come here again.

We cannot rave about this place more! My wife and I love eating here and we typically go out of our way to do so! Their food is incredible, we have loved everything we’ve had from there and they use the absolute best ingredients! We have truthfully never been let down by a single bite we’ve ever had. This place is way more than just amazing food though, their service is absolutely incredible and let me tell you a story about it. Recently my wife and I called ahead and ordered take out and on our way there I screwed up, accidentally ran something over and blew our tire. It was a stressful situation trying to call roadside service and get help and in the meantime I called Tiger Belly back letting them know what happened and that we wouldn’t be able to pick up our order for a while/need to cancel it. When I called, Kiyen answered, the owner of Tiger Belly, and without hesitation and with great compassion and understanding he offered to bring our food to us! He felt terrible about the situation we were in and he wanted to do what he could to help make it better! So he got in his car, drove us our food personally himself and then also tried assisting in us getting our tire fixed and back on the road. It was an absolutely incredible gesture and again speaks to how great this place and its people are. He needed to do none of this but instead he did something that was way above and beyond! Like I said, my wife and I already loved this place but even more now they have customers for life.

Tried this place on a whim after visiting the nearby vineyard, to say we were blown away is an understatement. Fast, friendly service even when it was very busy. The wings, bao buns, sushi, ramen, absolutely everything was delicious. Now I want to try everything else on their menu! I can’t say enough good things about our experience, 10/10 will absolutely come back again.

I visited this place many times over the past couple years. My experience was always consistent: superb ramen and mediocre service. Ramen is their specialty and I will recommend anyone visiting this place to order it. They have other food as well, but none of it gets close to the ramen. Still, their poke bowls and sushi rolls were fine every time we ordered them. The service is usually slow and unenthusiastic even if there are no other people in the dining room, but the ramen still makes the trip here worth it.

I ordered sushi for my son. When it was time to pick up the food, I went inside the restaurant, but the woman wouldn’t give me the food and told me to pick it up at another door. I told her that I always pick up my orders inside, but she insisted on going to another door. I went outside and couldn’t find the door, so I called to tell her I couldn’t find it and asked if I wanted to cancel the order. She said okay, but that was a shame because the food was delicious and the service really bad. However, another male staff member provided great service. The female receptionists, however, were terrible; she never smiled and spoke very abruptly. All of my friends said the same thing. Never go back there again if she still there.

We had a table of 8 during a busy period and they couldn’t keep up. The waiter was friendly and good with customer service but was overwhelmed. We had some food timing issues.
HOWEVER They still get 5 stars because the wings and sushi were excellent and they were trying to get things done. There’s a lot to be said for intention and effort. On the execution side, I was thrilled with the sushi and both varieties of wings. I wish I knew it was BYOB, but their fancy iced teas were really great as well.
My whole family loves this place and we will be back often!
