An absolute must go when traveling to and from Canada, or through the area. We felt like a coffee but didn’t know where to go. The town of Westhope was nearby, we took a chance thinking “perhaps a gas station will have coffee?” Then we spotted “The Standard News And Brews.”
It’s called that because it doubles as the local newspaper headquarters and the local coffee shop.
The place is amazing. First there is the coffee. It is European class quality. The roasts, and the blends are heavenly. The barista named Megan makes the perfect Cappuccino and my wife enjoyed a hot chocolate. On the day we came in, some of the local-towns-people were there as well as Ben the owner. We also met the local sheriff as well. We spent over an hour enjoying delightful conversation with everyone in the comfort of this charming coffee shop. Head on in and have your own experience you won’t be disappointed.

I was traveling from Miami Florida to Anchorage Alaska… What a great place friendly people… I met the manager a group of girls that had a slumber party they were very nice to me…. Just the absolute best. Think of the local coffee shop of your dreams, where everyone knows your name but treats you with respect and kindness. That alone would have you coming every day right? Now actually make the coffee amazing, the treats amazing, and oh yeah specialty drinks that never disappoint… and then you will have an idea of how amazing the standard really is.
