I only gave it 4 stars on atmosphere because it’s in a gas station, but don’t let that deter you from giving it a try. There is a nice and clean area to dine inside with large tables and a salsa bar. Most importantly their food was extremely delicious. I recommend the Carne Asada Fries, and the smokey looking red salsa.

Excellent mexican food with large portions – worth going out of your way to visit.
The first time we ate at Rolberto’s, it was because the chain resturant next door had stopped serving breakfast. Across the parking lot we saw their sign, “Breakfast served all day.” My wife and I split a breakfast burrito – it was delicious. Plenty for both of us.
The next time passing through Ely we looked forward to eating there. We only had a light snack leaving Las Vegas, just so we would be hungry when we arrived. As expected, it was great. Huevos rancheros for me, and a tostado for my wife. Large portions, tasty food and a friendly staff.
We’ll definitly stop there again.

Really great place! Would give more than 5 stars if I could. I’m a truck driver stopped at the truck stop near by for the weekend and decided to give them a try for breakfast and got huevos ranchers this morning. It was so good I came back for dinner and tried the chicken and shrimp nachos. It was so good! Portion size is massive and price is fantastic.

You would never guess it being that it’s located in a gas station all the way out in a town like Ely but the Mexican food here is outstanding. Definitely as good as you can find in a place like Vegas or even SoCal. They have a HUGE menu, big portions, reasonable prices and the service is always friendly. Any time my wife and I pass through town, we always make it a point to stop in for a breakfast burrito or if it’s later on in the day, a California burrito and a chicken quesadilla. I also love the fact that they have a salsa bar with 2 different red (spicy HOT is available) and green sauces, pico de gallo, cilantro, limes and even jalapenos with carrots. Obviously, being a fast food restaurant, this isn’t a fine dining establishment but the seating area is clean and comfortable if you’re not wanting to make a drive thru purchase. This is definitely a place I would recommend if a quick south of the border meal is what you’re looking for.

The Asada burrito was large and loaded with meat, but the seasoning/spices they use are too strong.
The salsa bar should be labeled better, as it is covered and was very difficult to find.
The menu should be layed out better or should at least be communicated. I didn’t notice until after I already ordered, that there was another menu on the side wall. Also, I saw the chef cooking eggs, yet saw no breakfast burritos on the menu.

I was pleased to have found a good Mexican restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Their horchatera was great, their carne asada burrito was delicious (and massive). Their beans are great, their rice is also great, and their service lines right up with their food. This is a great halfway point between Vegas and Boise if you’re driving and need to stop to get gas at Loves, get a bite, or stay the night. The name of this city is Ely, Nevada…. In the middle of nowhere.
