They had some seating area for those who want to have the sweets right there and then. Not that many seating, but you don’t really need that many at a cupcake shops, as they are more of take-home establishment.
We tried three kinds of cupcakes, Chocolate Mint Madness, Flavor of the Month, and Chocolate Raspberry Surprise. They were all nice, good flavors, and generous amount of frosting, making it way too sweet for me. If we were not sharing these among few people, I don’t think I could have finished one. Today is Saturday- the phone rings at 1:18pm and I am thinking Cupcake Charlie’s is calling to say my order is ready- Nope- A young girl is calling me to tell me her manager Carrie had her call to say the cupcakes wouldn’t be ready until 3:30.
When I told her the cupcakes would be useless to me then – because if I picked them up at 3:30- I wouldn’t be home with them until 4. I asked for a refund and was told the manager was too busy to it then- but would call me later. This would be the same ‘manager’ who promised they would be ready by two- So I told the girl on the phone that I would pick them up at 3:30- but whereas they were useless to me now- my review would reflect the experience. 59 dollars wasted on 12 cupcakes.
Then I recieved a message at 2:11 that the cupcakes were miraculously ready- I drove the 30 minutes to pick them up to be told by Carrie that she didn’t appreciate the way I spoke to a 16 year old- I informed her that she shouldn’t have had a 16 year old to call about her failure- that she had not only failed to fill a preorder that was paid in full- but then had a kid call about her failure- Carrie then started with a string of excuses- there was a call out- a line of customers- and so on.
I told her that if she couldnt fill my order for the cupcakes she should have given me more than 40 minutes notice- as coming up with a dairy free dessert for my nephews 18th birthday- when he was allergic to milk was all but impossible. IT IS AT THIS POINT SHE TELLS ME THAT I SHOULDN’T HAVE ORDERED FROM THEM BECAUSE SHE TOLD ME THERE WAS A RISK OF CROSS CONTAMINATION- CARRIE IS A LIAR- SHE NEVER SAID THIS- I WOULDNT HAVE ORDERED THEM.
The late cupcakes are one thing- endangering my nephew is egregious.
I told Carrie she was lying and she told me not to order from them again- Like I would have ordered again from this incompetent- excuse making- sad excuse of a manager.
Two customers stopped me as I left to tell me how upset they were over the way I was treated.
