Love the new version of this place! Thank you for listening to feedback from the locals. The food is absolutely excellent, the prices are approachable, and it’s become a spot you don’t need a special occasion to enjoy.
That said, the place is clearly a hit and it gets very busy. On our most recent visit, we waited about 30 minutes before I was able to flag down a server just to order a beer. I completely understand that the restaurant is popping, but the basics of service—bringing water right away and asking about drinks early—go a long way, especially when things are busy.
I wouldn’t mind waiting another 15–20 minutes to place a food order, or then another 30 minutes for wings to arrive, if drinks were already taken care of and buzz going. Again, we truly love the place and keep coming back (at least once a week!). If the staff can dial in the efficiency as volume increases, this spot will be off the charts.
Overall, great job on the new tavern—we’re excited to have you in NC!

Great food and service. New Castle has needed a place like this for a long time. Also a lot of big TVs to catch the game but they are unobtrusive and do not give this a “bar” feeling ….
