Went for the first time for my dad’s birthday. Had heard about this place for years and went to try it out. Unfortunately, we got off to a bad start when my wife’s water had black chunks in it, and then later found black specks in my drink (most likely a filthy ice machine). Then the spicy BBQ sauce was literally just spaghetti sauce with pepper spices in it. The food didn’t take long to come out, but that could be attributed to the massive lack of customers at that time. And unfortunatly the burnt ends were just chunked beef meant to trick you into thinking it’s burnt ends, the sausage wasn’t anything to ride home about. And the French’s fries were good until the grease hits your stomach and then you feel the need barf. The atmosphere is homey in vibes. But a lack of music makes the whole experience awkward as you can hear every conversation so there is a lack of privacy between tables. Not one of us fully enjoyed our meals and we ordered turkey pulled pork, burnt ends, ribs and plenty of sides to give it a fair shot. But everything came up short. Hopefully this place turns it around. If they don’t they probably won’t be around for another 70 years.

I really hate to give a barbecue restaurant with such a rich history a one-star review, however we visited for the first time this evening. I had four people to feed and I will say the portion sizes were very good. The barbecue itself was extremely dry, the rub on the ribs was good although they came across soggy, the brisket and the pulled pork were both very dry and the burnt ends were almost unedible. The spicy barbecue sauce was good if you can get past the overwhelming taste of pickles. The regular barbecue sauce itself was very good. As much as I hate to say it the best part of the meal for us were the french fries and beans, once you get past the very dry pieces of meat in the beans. With so many great barbecue restaurants in the area it would be hard to visit here again.

This used to be my favorite bbq place around! I guess they changed owners and have been switching things up, which is terrible. It was amazing before… now the burnt ends are rubbery and dry. The spicy bbq has changed drastically and everything has just gone down hill. My waitress was amazing but sadly the food wasn’t. I used to come here alllllll the time and I highly doubt I will be back now. Super sad this place is ruined for me.

Man, what happened to this place? I used to go there all the time and they would give you a huge portion of crispy fries with a mountain of mouth watering meats. Now you get about 5 slices of something that taste like it came out of a budding lunch meat pack and small portion of fries that taste like they were heated up in a microwave! I heard it has new owners its a shame they are willing to sacrifice customer satisfaction for profits. Chalk it up to just another post 2020 buisness who prioritizes squeezing profit over customer care. Sad…

Our first visit. The bbq pork had a nice smokey flavor. It was quiet on a February Wednesday night. The bread pudding was great. Smothered in pecans. Large portion. We split one and had more than enough.

I don’t usually post reviews. This is now my 3rd review ever. I’ll only do one if there is either exceptional service or a place is EXTREMELY awful. In this case it falls in the extremely awful. The food I ordered was the special, The burnt ends trio. It included, “burnt ends” sausage and ham. The “burnt ends” had zero flavor and was dry and very stringy, the sausage was cold and severely underdone had zero flavor and the ham was hard and extremely dried out and was obviously a processed compressed ham loaf. The dryness of everything was like all of it was microwaved from 10 days of uncovered refrigeration. My side was sweet potato fries, which were all underdone cold and mushy. We had also ordered a starter of fried okra, which we had to remind or server about because our meals came before our starter, when she brought it out they were also cold and she stated it failed to print on to the ticket for the kitchen. Our server was very friendly and we were greeted at entry. The elderly man who bussed our table was very gentlemanly and nice. So I’d say the staff is great! So if you’re looking for sub par food and a good customer service experience then by all means check this place out. But if you want good food do not come here. And if youre in the Belton area make the trip to, Ate 1, 6 BBQ in Raymore instead and save your stomach and taste buds the inevitable agony of it all. As, on top of not enjoying the food none of us felt well due to the aftermath of nasty food. The only reason we ate any of it is because we are people who want to give a place a fair chance of the entire experience.

This place used to be so good. Now its disgusting. We just visited, and will never return. All the food that we ordered for appetizers was sloppy and full of grease to where then even the fried part of the food was soggy. My daughter had a baked potato, which was putting it liberally when it was as dry as a midwest summer. Than came our grease soaked soggy pieces of French fries. Tiny pieces! You needed a spoon to scoop them up. There was not One Touch of flavor. Nothing.

My Parents and myself came in 12/10/25 for lunch. The brisket sandwiches and ham sandwiches were stellar. The chicken tenders were excellent. Prompt friendly service with a smile. We had an excellent waitress and excellent dining experience. Building had pretty Christmas decorations as well. I highly recommend this place to everyone, and I will be back!

Delicious!!!!
I tried the sliders so I could have a sampler of three meats. I chose ham, pulled pork, and sausage. The smoke and flavor in each of these was fantastic. Try the spicy bbq sauce.
My wife had the hand battered catfish. Once again, this was also excellent. We are passing through, but want to stop by again. The food is that good

My friend requested to go here for her birthday. My first time. I ordered a brisket sandwich, baked beans and fried okra. The okra was good with ranch. The beans were extremely sweet and molasses-y. The brisket looked dry when they brought it out. It liked like it had been sliced earlier and put under a warming light. And, boy, was it dry. I kept having to add sauce to be able to swallow. And the bun was a little hard. Not impressed. So many other good places in kc- Slaps, Jack Stack, Gates, Joes…
