Stopped by Café Rio and honestly loved it. The food tasted super fresh and full of flavor, and you can tell it’s made to order. The portions were generous too, which is always a plus.

The staff was friendly and the place was clean and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back!

Literally take your pick of any of the other one star reviews and it’ll fit perfectly.
Whole bowl itself weighed about 6 ozs.
Wrong meat, saying there is a single scoop of meat in this would be generous.

Don’t ever order to-go through the mobile app. Whatever zombie gets planted there working the to-go orders may or may not pay attention to what actually goes in the bowl. Probably best to just avoid all together.

Happens far too often that it was time to leave a review.

Since cafe Rio does respond to these, please answer these questions.

Would you personally accept this if this was your to-go order? Would you pay $13 for that?

What would you do this is how your bowls were prepared and didn’t realize until you got home?

I normally don’t write reviews, but after my experience today I felt like I needed to. I ordered two burritos to go, and the entire interaction was incredibly uncomfortable. The man making my burrito — a very tall employee — kept whispering “pinche” under his breath while I was telling him what I wanted. You don’t have to speak Spanish to know that’s inappropriate and unprofessional.

He also kept throwing ingredients into the burrito without waiting for me to confirm anything, and he wasn’t listening when I tried to tell him what I actually wanted. When he went to fold the burrito, he didn’t even tuck the ends in. It ended up looking more like an enchilada. I asked for a double tortilla (I’ve ordered it this exact way many times), but instead of doing that properly, he just dumped it into another tortilla which made everything spill everywhere. The burrito was basically falling apart and leaking out of the sides of the box.

When I started ordering my husband’s burrito, he rushed me through it and I didn’t even get the toppings I wanted. The whole time he was arguing with me for no reason. I actually worked at Café Rio for a year, so I know what the standards are — and none of this was even close.

I’ve had this same employee before and he’s had a small attitude, but nothing like today. I spoke to the manager and she didn’t seem to care at all, which made the situation even more frustrating. I’ve never had this kind of difficulty getting a simple burrito made the way I always order it

Not great for Cafe Rio, I excepted better. They were out of Pollo Asda, disappointing but understandable, but they weren’t busy…. So why are they out? I didn’t ask. I got the steak. My enchiladas were cool to the touch, cheese was barely melted. Small amount of beans with over twice as much rice. Wasn’t pleased, people won’t return this location if I can help it.

Orginal review deleted photos still up. Intresting. Google asking me to review again. Sure. Employees give away food to friends instead of making guest plates. Results in being out of everything. Literally watched this happen with mutiple people. Supervisors seem to be oblivious to every table dirty and people waiting over 30 mins for togos while everyone hangs out. Been three times in 2 years. My exact experience each time. Always out of stuff. Always dirty. Had to ask for a manger this visit. When I asked the person behind the line where my food was he told me it wasnt his problem.

Awful experience. Where do I start? First of all, the place was filthy, trash and debris were everywhere. The food quality was terrible. The line wasn’t being stocked; we were told every other protein was out. Then, a woman walked up to the gentleman building mobile orders for help, and he actually knew where backup protein was stored. We were basically told the protein was 86’d instead of being replenished. The soda fountains were not functioning properly. Hibiscus tea was empty. No paper napkins were available. This is completely unacceptable for an establishment that’s been in business for this long.

I had a poor experience with my order today. I specifically requested double meat on my nachos, but I only found around five small pieces of meat. The dish itself was poorly constructed; there was an excessive amount of sour cream, and the guacamole was just a sloppy scoop in the center. The food counter was visibly messy and the staff seemed uncoordinated. It’s clear there’s a lack of proper organization and care here. I hope they can improve their service and quality control in the future. Management needs to address this matter!

I love Cafe Rio and I’m always mad at myself for ordering to-go because 9/10 they mess up my order. I still give it a chance because I love their food but today might be the last time I do. The food was not only wrong, it tasted old and weird. The soda machine was down and employees were so uninterested, even a customer told them they were a mess. We threw our food away because it was uneatable. I never ask for refunds or complaint but today 1/17/26 was the last straw.

3 stars because that’s about as often as I walk out with food.
First: Salad is what I always get and it’s always a 10/10.
Now the reason for the 3/5 is I go very often at around 7. Last few time I’ve noticed that if they’re out of proteins at around 7, they just don’t make anymore. Grills are off, cooking stops, and they’re already cleaning even though closing is at 10 I think. 10:30 on weekends? The reason that’s always given is they’re out. I can understand that easily, but out of every protein?

That’s why the 3/5. I don’t know how early I have to go to always walk out with food.
