At our Jacksonville, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Dined in on 08/02 for lunch. Disappointed there’s not a Captain D’s in Mandarin. Went here with my son because it’s one of our family favorites. You would think University Blvd customer service would be mid, but they were extremely polite and on point with everything. Highly satisfied. Food was hot and tasty. Anyone submitting negative reviews should be ignored if they received food from drive-thru or food delivery service. Don’t care if it’s a fast food place or whatnot…it’s a restaurant and food outside the home has the best quality by dining inside. If you eat it from a box from a pick-up then complain about it, that’s your fault. Don’t complain about Captain D’s and think your negative review is legit.

I wouldn’t feel safe eating here again. I went back because my order was wrong at the drive-thru. I was hungry, so I took a bite out of one of the fish, then handed the plate back. The lady in the back took the other fish—the one I hadn’t bitten—and put it on someone else’s order.
That’s a clear health violation. I know I’m not dirty, but it doesn’t matter. I had already driven away with the food and came back, so it should never have been reused.
Other places would have either fixed the mistake or just added the missing item. I wasn’t even asking for a new order. But to take food from my plate and serve it to someone else? That’s unacceptable. I won’t be eating here again.
And the food salty as hell!! I’m disgusted and disappointed

So I come here for lunch and they charged me over $6 for this crappy amount of food. This looks like something for a child. On top of that I had to wait over 30 minutes just to freaking get it. Will never go here again!

Third time getting food from this location. Never been to any other location. 1st I went to the location to order. Food was delish so I ordered for lunch at work another time and got food poisoning. Not only did I get sick but another coworker who ordered the same as I did got sick and that was the big fish sammich meal. This was about 5 months ago. Never wrote a review as I was just too disgusted. Fast forward to yesterday, ordered delivery again giving it a second try because the fish sammiches are tasty. But this time I got catfish which was good. My same coworker who got sick before from the big fish meal ordered it again and after 2 bites noticed that the fish wasnt cooked thoroughly. And the fries were barely cooked. They were cold, soggy and some were even translucent smh!!! Bye bye money!!! He began getting nauseous but we were able to counter the possible poisoning with natural remedies as he had already began to get the bubble guts. Stop rushing to cook ppls food!!!! 1 day a review is going to be the least of your worries. I will not be patronizing this chain again. I know what goes on behind the scenes in these restaurants so shame on me!

Third time in a month where I have ordered either the 4 piece catfish or 4 piece fish dinner and the filets have been very small and the sides have been cold. For almost $16 bucks a plate I definitely expect to have a bigger piece of fish. I frequent here because it’s close to my job but I at this point it’s not worth the money.

This seafood reminded me of Long John Silver’s we have back home in San Antonio, Texas and this is my first time in Florida and ordering from Captain D’s When I received my food it was cold but then again I ordered through DoorDash so I’m sure about the time the food came to me it got cold but overall it was delicious

Arrived a little after lunch time, so not much of a crowd. Got a new guy at the register , couldn’t tell if he had a attitude or if he was just nervous at being new. Ordered my food and sat down, the wait seemed a little long to be the only person that ordered, but that was fine. The two issues I had were the size of the fish on my meal with hardly any fries. It looked like kids portions, I’m fine with paying a little more to get a few more fries on my plate, and a few decent size pieces of fish. But the best part was watching the manager argue with a lady over giving her a order of fries that the kitchen messed up on. I guess the fries or gold at this establishment, that’s why I only had like 8 with my order, and the manager was not going to give the lady hers. It’s a sad day when the manager has people looking at him argue with a guest over some fries…
