I am not associated with the place. I was in town and stopped for dinner. The BBQ Combo Platter was suggested, and it was excellent. Server was friendly and helpful. I’d eat here again if ever in the area!

Hot wings were a 9/10 for me nice crispy small with good traditional hot sause, the blue cheese is amazing pure crack!!! best BC I’ve had in my life and I’ve had a lot of take outs. Hickory bacon Burger is 8/10 and 10/10 if you add blue cheese on top. but very disappointing brisket platter avoid at all cost. Waitress Grace was very kind and personable and replaced the brisket with the pork shoulder which was much better 7.5/10. Very nice portions good fries and awesome asparagus.

ACoupleofCriticsXO| My fiance and I go on date nights and critique the experiences and post them. I am a fine dining server. We were in Cape tonight and decided to try Port for the first time. It was a busy night for the restaurant. We did not have to wait for a table luckily. We did however have to wait 10 minutes to be greeted and only because I flagged down the hostess to ask where are server was. The hostess then asked us if we sat ourselves and I replied we had not, we had silverware and menus, but we had been sat by another lady. A couple minutes later our server, Caroline, comes around. She does not introduce herself or ask how we are. She says and I quote “Want me to get your order in before I put this big table’s order in?” Rude and unprofessional. We give her our order: Stuffed Mushrooms and a dozen wings with lemon pepper dry rub and garlic parmesan sauce as appetizers, my fiance got the bbq combination platter and I got the bootheel burger with fries. Caroline dropped our food off and did not speak to us at all or check in with us once to see how everything was. I stacked our appetizer dishes at the edge of the table for her to collect and said thank you several times when she took them away and just got ignored. And eventually we had to flag her down to get boxes and the check, we didn’t even want to mess with getting dessert. The food was fantastic! The mushrooms were delectable, the wings were so flavorful, the burger was done to perfection and my fiance said the bbq was pretty good. The only issue I had with the food was that the fries were a bit chewy. But we were very pleased with the food. Honestly the food saved the whole experience for us. We spent $100 tonight including tip. We might give Port another try later on.

Very enjoyable and very relaxing.
I started going to Port Cape years ago, when a gal I was dating introduced me to it. Loved the place ever since.

Trust me, you will enjoy Port Cape.

Upon my son’s request, we enjoyed a delicious family meal here after his college graduation.
Wonderful service. Nicely poured drinks. Food prepared perfectly. There are two sections to dine in…the front restaurant area or the side lounge area. Each can accommodate large parties.

Great food when it finally makes it to the table. Took over an hour to get food on a Saturday afternoon with only 4 tables being occupied. Waitress couldnt be bothered to smile, appear friendly at all. Took an additional 10 minutes for a side of slaw again only 4 tables were occupied. Love the food and atmosphere but service definitely left a lot to be desired.

Years ago I went to Port Cape and loved their ribs. Now the ribs I got were as dry as the flavorless rub put on them. I swear they were cooked a week ago. Requested some sauce which never came. Wife picked some up from another table. Water has just as much flavor as that sauce. And the place is dark and depressing.

TL;DR: There are better places to eat downtown but this is not a bad choice.

We stopped in on New Years Eve for lunch. Of note, they serve rolls with a unique strawberry butter. I didn’t like strawberry, but it was ok. So if you do appreciate strawberry you may like it.

I had a Reuben (my go to for new restaurant). It was OK. Not spectacular but not bad. Overall my main complaint was heavy on the thousand Island.

My wife had a Po’Boy. She loved it. My mother-in-law seconded the sentiment.

My father-in-law had the baby back ribs. They looked more like a regular order of ribs.

My daughter had the Cubano (ham/pulled pork sandwich) which she enjoyed without the honey mustard.

While the food was overall good, the service was abysmal. We got drinks when the rolls arrived and we got refills after our food arrived. My drink was sitting empty for a while and so we’re others.

The atmosphere to me embodies downtown Cape and reminds me of many places in the area. The bar side stays open much later than the restaurant side (we were told there is no definite closing time). If the service matched the quality of the food this would be a great place to eat.

Great historic building right by the Mississippi River. Great vibe for a group outing. I had the BBQ combo with ribs and chicken. It was very good as were the sides. Everyone else complimented their meals and indicated that we’ll come back soon.
