At Porter’s Real Barbecue we refuse to serve anything other than REAL, fresh barbecue. This means all of our meats are cooked up to 14 hours and our sides are made fresh daily. That means that we regularly sell out of menu items, so check back here often. Life is too short…eat REAL barbecue. When Porter moved back home to the Tri-Cities in 2009, he brought back two things from South Carolina: his wife Kate and a passion for authentic barbecue. After five years of experimentation and practice, family, friends and co-workers began requesting that Porter make his barbecue for their events. It wasn’t long before his personal passion became his mission – to bring REAL barbecue to the people of the Pacific Northwest.

Locals line up for ribs, brisket & other familiar BBQ plates at this compact, simple counter serve.

The loaded baked potato with homemade cheese sauce and brisket was excellent. It was full of flavor and balanced. However the baked beans and Gouda Mac and cheese were just okay. We found the sides were lacking. Also it was rather expensive and it was all à la carte and there were no variety plate options available like most barbecue restaurants.

If you want good BBQ check out this place. We took it home without any fixings and we ate it up. We grabbed some spicy BBQ sauce and it was the best.

The beef rib is absolutely amazing! Then try the brisket ends, pork rib, and skip the sausage. The other MUST have is their mustard bbq sauce! The baked potato is also very good.

Service is fast and plenty of paper towels per table for you. Not very busy when we went but you can check their website to see if they have the meat in-stock as they do run out! Walkable to the river!!

The food was good and at a fair price. I think the beans are an outstanding side. They are sweet and peppery and a great compliment to the smoky meat. The brisket was pretty tasty and the pulled pork was good. The mustard BBQ and the spicy BBQ sauce were both really good. The standard BBQ was fine, but didn’t stand out like the others. Overall a good place to eat, with fair prices, a helpful, friendly staff and a clean facility. I would return again if I was looking for BBQ in the area.

Good smoke flavor but over cooked and dry. Expensive for what you get and mid level quality. They will not give you a receipt, has to be emailed to you? I can’t really recommend and I won’t return. EDIT: I am now receiving spam emails to the email I needed to provide for my receipt. I would highly recommend avoiding this establishment.

Food is great! Knocked a point off because of how much it is, but you can’t go wrong with Porter’s. Their barbecue sauce is excellent. Our favorite protein is the smoked sausage. The Gouda Mac and cheese is the best side.

Not a bad thing to get here! We usually get it to go so can’t speak to service. We particularly love the ribs, brisket, mac&cheese, and pudding. However everything is very good. Get their early because once they are out they are out!! I’m not a big fan of bbq sauce in general, theirs is very good but I really just love the meat itself with how they season it.

I’ve had a lot of people tell me about this place, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed.
The people who recommended this place to me either don’t know real BBQ, or this establishment wasn’t at its best today. The cashier seems to be the only one enjoying working there. And was the only one that was friendly.
I got the message; I won’t be back. The brisket was dry, like super dry! I hope it’s not always like that. It looked like a few days-old brisket and should have been sold as old brisket.
The pulled pork was also dry, the jalapeno poppers were very mediocre, and the mac and cheese was a joke. The only good things were the sausage, sauces, and the Pepsi.
I’m writing this not to get a refund, but to help others avoid wasting their hard-earned money, especially in today’s economy.
However, if you enjoy expensive, mediocre BBQ and bad service, this is your place!

Super chill atmosphere. The food is really good. I haven’t been able to get ahold of any smoked brisket that wasn’t dry in a while. They have a great selection of food. The bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers were great. The Johnny sandwich and the gouda Mac n cheese also hit the spot.

Came in with a large group on 8/22/24 around 6:15pm. The two individuals working were very accommodating and let us know right away what stock they had left so we could decide if there was enough for us all. They quickly worked through our orders and maintained a friendly demeanor and quality focus! They also checked on us while eating to make sure we enjoyed the visit.
Every single member of our party enjoyed the food and thought it was delicious!
