Food was pretty good, pretty expensive for what it is though. Smash burger was tasty, chips were spot on. Mozzarella bites were lovely.
Service, was great and not so great, waited a wee while to get our order in, finished our starters and waited 10/15 for our table to get cleared. Waitress was great, however might be understaffed and had to wait a few tables herself.
Id probably visit again, was a good enough meal and the food was tasty. 3.5/5
We ordered starters and mains, but after waiting quite a while, everything came out at once. I ordered the mac and cheese and sadly I couldn’t eat it — it was really runny, tasted like it came from a tin, and had very little cheese. My partner had the Jack Daniels chicken which I normally love, but even that wasn’t great and was absolutely smothered in sauce. We ended up having to swap meals.
Another thing I noticed was the bar selection — surprisingly limited. For a place known for cocktails, there seemed to be loads of bottles of the exact same spirit rather than a good range.
The best part of the visit was definitely the service — the staff were lovely, checked in regularly and were very friendly when it came to paying the bill.
Overall, a disappointing visit to a place we used to really enjoy. Hopefully things improve.
The staff was nice, I cannot remember the name of our waitress but I think it was Holly? I could be wrong I remember her being blonde/ginger (apologies if I got everything wrong) she was very kind and brought our food in a decent amount of time.
The endless wings were alright the chicken itself properly cooked but I only got them due to my friends saying they were good not knowing that the sauce was going to be too sweet and I could not finish my plate after 4 plates.
The fries were very very good so props to them for that!
Overall not a bad restaurant chain will probably come back again if not to this one than to another one in the future!
Reason for a 3 is because it was too sweet so I couldn’t finish it but if I could give it another rating it’d be 3.5 out of 5!
Chicken tenders and fries,
While I had Chicken stripes with sesame seeds, oh and kids eat free with a code from the app , think you need 1 each not sure .
This is a great improvement on my first visit back in September 2019 when I left a disappointed 3 star review: “Had to wait at the bar for a table for 15 minute which is not the end of the world but some items unavailable from bar menu while waiting and service was a bit slow throughout my visit. The place was not particularly busy, just low on staff. The food was good but not great. Felt it was a little pricy for what we got. Overall not a bad place for a meal but will try other food options at the fort first before I return.”
