I wanted to try as many things as I could, so I orderd a combination platter, a whole lot of food for the price for sure
-Chill Relleno was exceptional, beautifully executed
-Shredded Beef Enchilada, tasted like Birria, was yummy nonetheless
-Chicken in the Tamale was a big chunk of a chicken breast which was dry as the Sahara dessert, wish it was shredded, and wasn’t covered in Salsa Verde and Cheese, couldn’t really taste the masa
– Not a fan of the yellow rice, parboiled, box rice, wasn’t Spanish Rice
-Pinto Beans basic, hardly and flavor
The soul of a Mexican restaurant can be found in Rice & Beans, a basic staple of the cuisine, it was lacking here… but it is Tex-Mex, so maybe this is why it’s different?
I was very excited to see one of my favs on the menu, so I ordered the Tomalito, a sweet corn Tamale. It was absolutely inedible, I actually had them take it back. It was dry, dense, hard, heavy, and actually crispy on one end. Was it microwaved? Never had a Tomalito so bad.
I was very impressed with the decor, ambiance and grandeur of this establishment, it’s beautiful, great for a large banquet or evening with family and friends.
Large bar area, great selection of drinks, cocktails for happy hour too
The staff was most kind, hospitable and very attentive, could be that I was the only one in the dining room, but I enjoyed it. Martin my server was awesome, as well as my other waitress, who kept my chips replenished. They were delicious!

I’d been craving steak fajitas for a while, so I stopped by El Tio Tex-Mex Grill in Falls Church for lunch — and they did not disappoint.
The restaurant has a clean, cozy vibe with a relaxed, welcoming feel. Service was friendly right from the start. They brought out complimentary chips and salsa with water as soon as I sat down — a nice touch.
I ordered the chicken soup and the steak fajitas — both were delicious. The fajitas came out sizzling, and the steak was tender, juicy, and flavorful. They served it up with the full set: avocado, tomatoes, rice, beans, sour cream, grilled onions — everything you’d want, all fresh and well-prepared.
The price was reasonable, and the whole experience hit the spot. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m in the mood for Tex-Mex.
I know this is definitely a family restaurant but the amount of chaos in there from the children screaming (yes i know this is not the restaurant’s fault) to the waiters being so busying trying to man other tables leaving some waiting longer than others, this was not the best dining experience i’ve had.
the food was also not amazing. the ceviche was very fishy despite it trying to be drowned out with citrus, parsley?, onion, and ginger. i’ve never had any ceviche with ginger in it but im pretty sure they only did that cuz the fish was extremely fishy. AND even with the ginger i could still taste that the fish was not fresh and clear flavors of parsley in there that’s not normally in the dish. my carne asada was cooked to my preference, it was still cold in the center, almost like it hadn’t finished defrosting. the enchiladas were good. not spectacular but still good. honestly the best thing about this place was probably the complimentary chips. they were fresh and perfectly crisp!
while im glad i finally got to try this place out, i will not be returning.
I think the sizzling fajitas is a famous dish because I saw many people ordered it. I had sizzling fajita beef, and my friends had the same dish, but some got it with seafood, and others got it as a mix of chicken and see food. Everything was amazing. It was such a lovely night.
Quality and quantity and service and interior and my favourite Spanish music. All great at one place
