I visited with two friends to celebrate a birthday, and the setting was absolutely beautiful. From the elegant table settings to the charming décor, every detail created a lovely atmosphere. Many guests embraced the spirit of the occasion and dressed in traditional British tea attire, which added so much to the overall experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating.
While the ambiance and service were wonderful, the food did not quite meet expectations. The scones were served without clotted cream, and several of the baked items did not seem as fresh as they could have been. The finger sandwiches were traditional, but the bread also lacked freshness and did not taste homemade. Having enjoyed proper British tea in England several times, I know that while the cuisine is simple, the baked goods are typically very fresh and delightful. That attention to detail makes all the difference.
My hope is that The Garden Room continues to lean into its strengths in atmosphere and hospitality while refining the food experience to match the beauty of the setting. With a few adjustments, it could truly be exceptional.
