This place is honestly a hidden gem. From the service to the food, you can’t go wrong dining here. We ordered the fish tacos, shrimp, enchiladas, and volcano rock meal, and were blown away with the quality and taste. You can tell that the owner, Carlos, puts his entire heart and soul into this place. We will definitely be back soon.

From the moment we walked in to El Vago, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, truly top-notch service.
But the real star of the show? The food. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavors, beautifully presented, and made with clear attention to detail. You can tell the kitchen is passionate about what they do.
Chef Carlos personally came out to greet us, and his genuine hospitality added such a special touch to the evening. He clearly takes pride in his craft, and it shows in every bite.
It was an all-around fantastic experience, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Highly, highly recommend El Vago, this is one restaurant you do not want to miss!

We ordered take out last night for the first time after seeing all the positive reviews and it did not disappoint! I got the chicken burrito bowl, my husband got the pastor tacos and we got guac. Everything was delicious! It was so fresh and the flavor was fantastic. You can tell everything was good quality. We have found our new take out Mexican spot and can’t wait to order again!

Very delicious food! Everything is fresh and homey. Highly recommend the camarones a la diabla, the rice is so good! The carne asada in our quesadillas was also well seasoned. Highly recommend coming here if you’re craving authentic Mexican flavors. Great vibes, friendly staff, and BYOB if you wish.

We ordered from here all the time when it was El Buen Sazon, but sadly they moved to South Philly. El Vago has kept some of their menu, but the food is slightly greasier, and the salsas are not as good (oh how I miss those salsas!). We usually order the veggie burrito and the veggie quesadilla (used to get flor di calabaza or hongos but those are no longer listed). We tried a new dish, the rajas, and they were very tasty but incredibly rich–definitely better for a shared appetizer than a meal. We also tried the chile relleno, which I’m used to being vegetarian but here comes with chicken, so we asked to not have that and it was just a single poblano in cream. Tasty but a little lacking for a meal. Still, shockingly few Mexican restaurants in the area have vegetarian options, so I’m glad to have them here!

All around amazing! The food was so so so good, the server was very nice, and the food didn’t take too long. We tried several different dishes and loved all of them, we also had a toddler with us that really enjoyed his quesadilla! Their guac tastes different than any other guac I’ve had, and it’s so much better! The food is a bit expensive but each entree has a lot to it, so if you bring home leftovers you can definitely get more than one meal out of it!

I truly enjoyed my experience at El Vago in Drexel Hill, PA. The food and service is a 10/10! I’ve tried multiple items from the menu, and enjoyed each one. The “Tacos Del Mar” have become my go-to order, and I love that the owners always provide a special touch whenever I visit. Stop by and check out El Vago – you will truly leave full and satisfied.

We had El Pastor Taco, Fish Taco, and Horchata. All were so delicious! The pastor was well seasoned, and the fish taco was very crispy. The horchata also had good flavor.
