Third time I have eaten here and each time the food was undoubtedly the most fresh ingredients I have had. I won’t bore you with the menu because it changes so often due to the chef only uses fresh ingredients, so whatever is in season is what will be served. But I can confidently state that no matter what is placed on the table in front of you, it will be magnificent. And the cider on tap is a perfect pairing for almost any dish. The atmosphere is a picturesque setting for date night or that special evening out! The service is top notch, what you would expect from a five star restaurant in a large city. However this place is so quaint and in such a beautiful spot nestled away in a small town, you can easily drive by it and not know it is there. Kudos to the entire staff. I look forward to the next visit!

Amazing food. Everything we ordered was top of the line. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food served. Excellent service, relaxed atmosphere.

White table cloths, set tables, and I can still be casual? Yes please!
We were in town for work with very limited time to explore. I’m usually the designated “find us food” person of the group. And what can I say, Yelp and my ability to sniff out good places, make that an easy job! We were staying in Dupont and opted for something close. Steilacoom (town) was it and had a few little gems to offer! I called ahead because I wasn’t certain how busy a Thursday night would be. Let me tell you, everything from making that phone call, to receiving our checks at the end of the meal and everything in between, was friendly and the very best of service I’ve received anywhere else! But you wanna know about food, right?
Nothing short of Oh My Goodness! Alex was a super duper host, as well as bartender! He made us two cocktails (off of the menu, but his drinks) and had the patience of a Saint, taking us through the menu and ensuring our vegetarian friend would be accommodated too. I didn’t get the name of the Chef, but kudos to you! This is a true farm to table, local/sustainable (if you’re in to that kinda thing) with an ever changing menu based on what’s in season and available. Every single thing was bursting with flavor and prepared with care. Our bellies and hearts were full, down to the last bites of our beignets and budino! I enjoyed the salmon; crispy outside, tender and flaky bites inside, with this magical carrot puree and nettle chermoula, and a lovely little bed of arugula with radishes. My colleagues had pasta dishes (lamb & tagliatelle pasta / mushroom with tomatoes, and butter sauce with tagliatelle pasta (off the cuff for our veggie friend). I walked away being comfortably full and beyond pleased.
If you find yourself in Washington near Tacoma or Dupont, you must go to Steilacoom and dine at De La Terre!

My daughters and I had dinner here tonight on our way to Portland. We had no previous knowledge of the restaurant with the exception of reading a few reviews prior to arrival.
I have pretty high standards after 30 years of service industry. If I eat out, I really want excellent food and service. This place was phenomenal. The food was delicious and fresh. Perfectly cooked. But the attention to the cocktails really knocked my socks off. Everything was excellent. Seriously. Can’t rave enough.

The food was delicious, great flavors. Our steak and lamb was cooked near to perfection.
However, for the price, a few things were lacking. The soup was serving scolding hot, the waiter couldn’t answer basic questions about the menu and the ambiance was just a little wanting.
To reiterate the food was great and I’m just being picky but compared to other restaurants in the price range, I was underwhelmed

The food was absolutely delicious and they have a fantastic selection of Bourbons. However, make sure you have time to spend here as it will take a little while to get your food but the wait is well worth it. To me that meant that they took time and focused on the meal that they were giving you. Great job to the team at De La Terre!

Food is good but the service and food delivery is super slow. Took an hour for the main dish to arrive. I could of swore they were raising the cow, butchering it, and then cooking it during our visit. Our party was not given any updates from the waiter. Price is on the expensive side but I don’t mind if they match the SERVICE and food quality. Parking was plentiful on the side streets and location is wonderful. You can see the Puget Sound and smell the salty air. Arg!!!

Excellent local restaurant with a menu that changes with the seasons. The chef is creative and skilled. Pricy, but you certainly get what you pay for here. Complemented by a large wine menu and several options for local beers. Best choice in the area for special occasions and date nights. 4/5 stars as the service can occasionally border on slow and we have received food that was not hot on a couple occasions – however this was quite rare compared to our number of visits.

De la Terre is a little gem somewhat hidden in Steilecoom. I want them to be successful, but I selfishly don’t want it to get so popular that it’s impossible to get a seat. The service is friendly and quick. The drinks are delicious and the food is fantastic and fresh!! The flavors shine through and everything was cooked perfectly.

Truly works of culinary art. We had a table for 18 and they were incredible. Sauces on everything were ridiculous… Bring the bread to sop them up! Salads had wonderful mixture of greens including some I never thought I’d like, but they did something to make them awesome. Main courses were also super! Desserts were also fantastic. A great great place to share a special meal.
