Stopped by Rude Awakening downtown with my best friend just to grab a coffee and something sweet and omg I’m so glad we did. The woman working was SO nice and of course I didn’t catch her name but she made us this secret mystery drink and it was actually amazing.

She also gave us cheesecake with blueberries strawberries and chocolate and it was sooo good like immediately made my day better.

We also spent time looking around at all the things they sell and I loved that part. They have really cute local stuff like tea bag holders and Fayetteville themed board games. The coolest thing was the downtown businesses Monopoly style game. I don’t even live there yet and I already want one if I move.

this place had great vibes great people and great coffee so yeah easy 5 stars ☕✨

I love this cute and cozy downtown coffee shop! My best friend and I have been here a few times, but last night we decided to do a late night coffee run. We ordered the coffee flight and each one was delicious!

I also appreciate how they’re opened late!

I thought the hot chocolate was way too sweet. I also got the “ chocolate disk as recommended to make the hot chocolate richer. It is a marshmallow with a thin layer of chocolate- stuck on top of your hot cocoa- not good in my opinion. Staff was very nice and the atmosphere was good- quirky with a gritty feel. I would definitely try a different drink if I come back.

It was a cute spot but we asked if they had matcha they said yes and this is what we got. Flavored milk. My husband asked what it was and the barista claimed it was “matcha concentrate” I have no clue what that is or why it was white but we won’t be coming back.

This place is an absolute gem !
Great vibe and charm in spades.

I had the pleasure of chatting the owner and found that they opened in downtown Fayetteville in 1999. A courageous undertaking considering this area was quite undesirably seedy and crime infested back then.

In fact, this shop was at the forefront of a decades long revitalization of what is now a thriving hub of arts, entertainment, and a plethora of foodie options.

I always enjoy the outside seating which provides front row view to experience the sights and sounds of Hay St: a prime spot to chill and people watch (after about 8 pm on weekends you are guaranteed to NOT be bored 🙂

And yes, they’re open to 12 midnight on weekends (10 pm during the week) making it the go-to option for late work/study. This is exceptional since there are are very few coffee shops in all of North Carolina serving these hours.

A truly iconic establishment that would be very much worth a visit… Most highly recommended

Two words: Coffee. Flight.

It’s divine. Every drink we’ve gotten has been something to write home about. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The space is a little awkward due to the narrow building, but everything they serve is worth the squish and they do have a good amount of seating. Just be ready to scootch by!

They have desserts, lunch choices, fruit, chocolate bars, and killer gifts/art for sale.

Try one of everything. No regrets.

I went here with a woman i was trying to impress and the experience really was a RUDE awakening. We were not greeted. Our presence from beginning to end was a bother to the woman making the coffee. We came up to order still no greeting. Which is a little strange since a couple of women and the barista were having a whole conversation. I asked for the WiFi password which in my experience is posted in a coffee shop. I waited at the counter for my drink (a hot white chocolate mocha made with oat milk) the drink wasn’t good. It tasted like warm oat milk. No taste of coffee or espresso. I was so embarrassed that my date and I did not sit in. We left and I threw the drink in the nearest corner trash can. I’m not sure that they are LGBTQIA friendly and probably prejudice.

OMG, this place is amazing it’s like a hidden jewel. I came to town and wanted to find a place for coffee and dessert, and I did, yeah. The staff was so nice and patient on describing all these different deserts and coffee. The final results were so good. The conversation was so good with other customers . The decorations were so pretty, and the inside and outside seating area was so nice. I definitely would go back.

This local coffee spot is one of Hay streets best kept locally owned secrets! We have been coming here 10+ years when we moved to the ville. It is always clean, Molly and her staff are always very friendly! They know how to make my husband’s favorite café con leche and consistently offer yummy gluten free options for a quick bakery bite, lunch or snack. Check out the secret court yard for a peaceful moment and the Coursive gift shop!
