Came here for lunch on a Monday without a reservation. There’s a designated waiting area with cushions which was convenient as I had to wait around 10 minutes.

I was seated at a small table tucked away in the corner closest to the kitchen, which was perfect as I was alone and felt like I could enjoy a quiet lunch on my own. I was very curious about their vegan menu so I decided to try the veganized “Nihonbashi Soba Set” menu which comes with soba, tempura, appetizer, and inari sushi. It was delicious and tasted authentic. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish everything because the portion was quite big. The only thing I would critique is that the hot yuzu tea I ordered was served in a water glass, so I had to wait for the tea to cool down to be able to touch the glass without hurting my fingers. I’m not sure why they didn’t serve the hot tea in a mug with a handle. The tea was yummy though.

The service was friendly and efficient, and as far as I could tell, almost all servers speak Japanese, English, and German which was impressive. I was happy that I got to practice my Japanese, and the staff member who served me was kind enough to compliment my Japanese which made my day.

Overall a positive experience that I would recommend to anyone willing to pay a bit of a higher price in exchange for an authentic Japanese meal in Vienna.

We went there for lunch and our experience was great! Food was very authentic and tasty. This restaurant was an unexpected gem for Vienna and definitely worth visiting.

However, it might be slightly expensive and you might be expected to wait during busy hours.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, excellent service and free WiFi available as well

Amazing experience! The karaage was super crispy and delicious, the gyoza were full of flavor, and the soba noodle with tempura set tasted freshly made with a very traditional touch. The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. On top of that, the service was spectacular—friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend!

Nihin Bashi is an amazing Japanese restaurant in Vienna. The menu offers traditional Japanese dishes as well as sushi, and everything we tried was absolutely top-notch. I’ve honestly never tasted fish prepared so perfectly, even the soy sauce stood out, with a depth of flavor you don’t usually find elsewhere. Every detail felt carefully thought out, from the quality of the ingredients to the balance of tastes.

It was a truly memorable dining experience, but reservations are essential if you want to get a table. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates excellent Japanese cuisine.

5/5 experience, I can really say it’s “fine dining”. Japanese traditions are fine dining by its nature I think, like the portions, preparing the meals, it feels like premium natively. And also in this restaurant, the experience starts from getting inside. They welcome you beautifully and show a seat kindly. They reply your questions seriously and explanatory, can suggest meals for your likes, and serves finely. The meals were amazing, the taste is delicious, proportions are exactly right amount to be satisfied and full but not too much just the right, and the looking of the foods are beautiful like an art piece. And prices are very economic despite the experience you get from this fine dining. Only, I wish I could be able to sit in the traditional sitting room.

f you are looking for authentic Japanese food in Vienna, this is definitely the place to go. The dishes are prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients and have a truly authentic flavor that makes you feel like you’re in Japan.

The service is excellent — attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with a simple yet elegant Japanese-style interior that adds to the overall dining experience. Prices are fair for the quality you get, making it a great option whether you’re going for a casual meal or a special night out.

Perfect experience! Visited twice, sampled different menu items, and each time left the table thinking about when I could schedule a trip back!

Fresh fish and vegetables, delicious cooked dishes, beautiful presentation, friendly staff, and – not sure how they do it – but the best Lemon Citron in Vienna!

Stellar, among the best, if not the best, places in Vienna to get authentic Japanese food.

Before coming here I spent over a month in Japan on holidays and their food lives up to the food in the homeland.

I have nothing but compliments for them, if you can get the 8 course meal.
