What a hoot this place is, always wanted to come and finally had the chance while in town. Competitive pricing on food and drinks and all with a great atmosphere and great live music from a great group of folks. The burrito was massive and I couldn’t finish but took it home for seconds. The young lady that served our table was so sweet and was very attentive.

On a recent trip to El Paso, we had to visit the original Rosa’s Cantina from Marty Robbins’ song “El Paso.” The restaurant/bar is definitely old, but the interior is very clean and welcoming. The food and service were both commendable. If you’re down this way, do yourself a favor and check out this piece of history.

Iconic to say the least. Usually a place like this becomes an over priced tourist trap BUT NOT ROSA’S!! Great prices on authentic food served by some of the best in the business. Terrific place to stop if you are traveling through . Even better place to become a regular if you are local!!!

Great place to go after hiking Mount Christo Rey.
Great pub environment with friendly waitresses. Food is rich and more Texan Mexican style, rather than simple grills.
I did feel a bit overwhelmed and too rich after finishing.

My kind of bar. Touch tunes available when there’s not live music performance. I’ve been here a few times now. Usually the parties I go with order the spicy margarita and they always say it’s amazing. More of a beer drinker myself. I had the brisket nachos here or I think it’s cantina nachos and added brisket. Super good. I had the burger with chile con queso in it. Amazing El Paso staple.

How can you resist going to the bar/restaurant made famous by a Marty Robbins tale of love and murder? Anyway, this was not a trip we will regret.

The parking lot is a tiny dirt lot. But once inside, we were told by the first waitress to walk by us that we can sit wherever we’d like. Once we chose our table we were quickly welcomed by our server and she left us with some chips and salsa.

Overall, the place was too full to comfortably take pictures of the whole room . Despite being busy, the service was fast. The food was not the best, but we’ve had much worse. I do like that don’t skimp on the lettuce and tomatoes. I suspect that after a drink or two, the food would really hit the spot!

They also sell t-shirts, hats, stickers and coasters.

All in all, with the attentive service and t-shirts to commemorate the experience, we’ll definitely be back. Not only will we be back, but we’ll also be bringing our out of state family for a visit. This way they’ll get to enjoy the food, history of how long the bar has been around and bragging rights of visiting the bar where Marty fell in love with a Mexican girl named Felina and killed for her.

“Just went head-to-head with the famous Martha burrito at Rosa’s Cantina — and let me tell you, Bertha don’t play. That beast came loaded with flavor, heat, and attitude. I walked in hungry and walked out humbled, full, and smiling. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and take on Bertha. Highly recommend.”

Incredible place and better people. I was working in the west Texas town of El Paso so of course I had to stop in here and was glad I did. A true local bar where they treat visitors like family. I was only there a few times that week but shared a beer or two with good people like Albert, Alexandro, Mundo and others. Words can’t do it justice just go see for yourself. You will be glad you did.

My wife and I were in El Paso for the El Paso Marathon. We had to try Rosa’s Cantina. When we arrived there was 1 open table and there was a lady singing and playing the saxophone. We sat enjoyed the great music and ordered food. Food was delicious, service was extremely friendly and the whole atmosphere of the place was terrific! Highly recommended.
