After travelling in Peru for a week, we had a craving for Indian food. Our travel guide suggested Mantra. Out of the 3 Indian restaurants in Lima this one had the best rating and it was close to our hotel as well. Reservation was easy through their WhatsApp number. They have karaoke on weekends. This added to the overall mood. Yuder helped us with the order and was very responsive and friendly. Food was overall good. I am probably a bit harsh on the rating for food being from Vancouver and being exposed to the myriad of choices there. We were able to meet the owner as well and had a friendly chat with him about the history of the place. Will certainly recommend.

Amazing lunch at this incredible Indian restaurant in the heart of Milaflores, service was exceptional and the food was exquisite. Entrees were served promptly and accompanied by a range of authentic sauces. Butter paneer and malai kofta curries were aromatic and creamy without being too rich. Cheese garlic naan was fresh from the tandoor and the mango lassi was a refreshing treat. Portions were generous and prices reasonable, I’ll be back!

This place serves delicious Indian food! Very authentic flavors. They know what they’re doing! We have not found any Indian restaurant in Lima that comes close. Very comfortable and friendly atmosphere with super nice servers. Get several mains; and it comes family style so you can share. I found the spiciness of the vindaloo just right. Truly a go-to place in Miraflores, especially if you want a change from the usual.

I recently visited Mantra Indian Restaurant in Lima, and it was an excellent experience. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with a nice mix of traditional Indian décor and modern touches, which immediately makes you feel comfortable.

The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes, from vegetarian options to flavorful chicken, lamb, and seafood curries. The spices were well-balanced, not overly strong, but still rich in taste, bringing out the authentic Indian flavors. I especially enjoyed the naan bread – soft, fresh, and perfect with the curries.

The staff is friendly and attentive, happy to guide you through the menu if you’re new to Indian food, and they adjust spice levels according to preference. Portions are generous and worth the price.

Overall, Mantra is a great spot if you’re craving authentic Indian food in Lima. Whether you’re an Indian food lover or trying it for the first time, this place won’t disappoint. Highly recommend.

Great place to have your Indian cuisine in Lima. Ask for Yuder to be attended, he knows English as well as very open to serve , although he said he is part time only and in evenings 6 to 10 pm available mon to sat.
foodwise , no complain , good taste, good quantity, we had to pack the leftover so order in moderation only first may be . Mango juice is same as we used to make at home ourselves.

Good indian option in Lima. Loved the baingan bharta naan and paneer. Pagoda was also good. rice and manchurian was alright. And lassi was actually not that good at all.

I came here multiple days for lunch and dinner. This is one of the oldest Indian restaurant in Lima, and one of the best restaurant for Indian cuisine.
Located in miraflores and close to larcomar.
I have been to various Indian restaurants and the test was not really Indian. But here the test is better than, you can test in India.
To mention few of the dishes you must try veg tava masala, Kadhai paneer, palak paneer in vegetarian dishes. Chicken tikka masala, butter chicken & chicken malai tikka in non vegetarian dishes.
Sweet dishes gulab jamun and kulfi must try.
Other than food, owner of restaurant Mr. Jay Patel personally take care of guests and he gives you solutions for all your queries and try to help you.
All staff members are polite & service is good.
Good job Mr. Jay Patel, keep it up.

We visited Mantra Indian Cuisine in Lima for lunch and were honestly impressed with the authentic North Indian vegetarian flavors!

We tried:

Paneer Tikka – smoky, well-marinated, and grilled just right

Aloo Tikki – crispy on the outside, perfectly spiced inside

Malai Kofta – rich, creamy, and packed with flavor

Garlic Naan – soft with just the right amount of garlic kick

And a tumbler of Buttermilk that was refreshing and soothing with the spice

To top it off, we ended our meal with a perfectly brewed Masala Tea – warm, spiced, and comforting.

The food was genuinely yummy and satisfying, but what made the experience even more memorable was the hospitality. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The owner even took the time to give us a mini tour, showing how they beautifully transformed a residential hotel into this cozy and inviting restaurant space. You can feel the passion behind the place.

Definitely a hidden gem in Lima for anyone craving Indian food — whether you’re local or just visiting!
