Would be a 5, but the service was lacking as I stood in the lobby for 10 minutes before anyone came out to seat me. I knew I was going to wait though because, being from the Rochester area, I was super excited to see a John Hardy’s in the area. The food did not disappoint!
I do suggest they forget the burgers and extra stuff and concentrate on providing the same BBQ experience they have in Rochester – which I would describe as more dive.
I will definitely be back and hope they get the service figured out

The service was not good. The food was okay. We went there with another family. I ordered jojo potatoes, which are usually seasoned potato wedges but was served potatoes that were more like chips. I asked the server about it and she told me that’s how they do jojos. I said that I had been expecting wedges. She couldn’t have cared less. She said most people expected wedges. Despite knowing that most people expected wedges, she didn’t say anything when I ordered them and the menu didn’t describe them well enough for me to know what they were. She didn’t offer to bring me something else or even show any sign that she cared that I was disappointed. Others said their food was ok and they would be willing to give it another chance.
UPDATED: We went back on 10/9/15 and had a much better experience. Jason was our server and he did a great job. The baby back ribs and smoked turkey were juicy and flavorful. I really liked the sweet baked beans and sweet potato tator tots. The food came out very quickly! I also heard the server for a nearby table explain the jojos. MUCH better experience!!

Yay! We’ve loved John hardeys in Rochester forever and finding it here was a treat! Chicken plate with jojos and lots of sauce is the way to go. We love the garlic bread (not a diet item) but the corn bread is good too. Service was excellent and quick. One in Hastings next please!

Their was what looked like a finger nail in my water they took it and replaced it with barely a sorry. Then they let you choose a sauce when you order ribs but the ribs come out dry and then they just hand you a bottle of sauce to put on yourself. Kind of misleading it’s not like I have a barbeque brush or anything to evenly put my sauce on myself. Then again I already lost my appetite after drinking some of my finger nail laden water.

This is by far the worst bbq I’ve ever had. It is the worst food in Albertville which is not an easy task. I don’t see how they can possibly be proud of anything that comes from that kitchen. It is absolutely disgusting. I’ve been from coast to coast and every bbq joint in between and this John Hardy BBQ taste like a pre-cooked dried out TV dinner. Absolutely gross. I don’t even like driving by the place it’s so bad. Save your $.
