Iʻm from Hawaii and this was my 1st time. The service was awesome from the hostess, to the waitress to one of the managers. They were all kind and made us feel welcome. The decorations for the Christmas season were so beautiful that it made me feel like I was in a Christmas house! The prime rib was made perfectly, so soft and tasty and the au ju sauce was “ono” (delicious in Hawaiian). Even the clam chowder was tasty. We didnʻt have a reservation but they were kind enough to find us a table. Canʻt believe this place has been around for 50 yrs. Love it! Aloha!

I learnt one lesson here: Use the restroom before you eat. Had i gone there first, I would never have eaten there. Pre 2020 I have frequented this establishment many times. To say that it has deteriorated significantly is an understatement. The best part of the experience was the barman who was so attentive; the rest was downhill. Ambience was zero and the decor while meant to be old fashioned English was just a stale 80/90s decor that was never updated (basically, refreshed). This place is not clean and I would never recommend anyone eat here. I hate giving bad reviews but feel I should be honest.

The atmosphere was wonderful, especially since they were decorating for Halloween—it added a fun touch! Service was also very good. The food was mostly excellent: the prime rib and the accompanying extra-spicy radish were fresh and delicious. The only slight drawback was the salmon entrée, which was unfortunately a bit too salty.

Went there with my wife for a nice dinner and the place felt like a time capsule in the best way. From the dark wood interior to the silver carts rolling by with giant cuts of meat, everything had that old-school charm. The waiter came over in a crisp jacket and took his time explaining things, which I appreciated. It felt formal without being stuffy.
I ordered the prime rib cooked medium rare and it came out exactly right. Juicy, flavorful, and carved right at the table. The Yorkshire pudding was soft in the middle and crisp on the edges, and the creamed spinach was better than I expected. I’m not usually big on salad but the spinning salad bowl show was a nice touch, even if the dressing leaned a little too tangy for my taste.
It’s definitely not a cheap dinner, but it didn’t feel wasteful either. We left full and happy, and it felt like a special occasion even though it wasn’t one. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and enjoy the whole experience. I’d go back again without hesitation.

This restaurant is right across from John Wayne Airport. There is plenty of parking and we were seated right away. The Prine Rib is the best in town.

I’ve been enjoying the prime rib at Gulliver’s ever since they were in the Marina DelRay.
I have relatives that lived North of Delmar. I would meet them at Gulliver’s during the week for a late lunch. About one thirty so I could get the Gulliver’s cut of prime rib with creamed corn and creamwd spinach. EVERYTHING was wonderful. My cousin and her family have all moved back to ITALY. It’s had become too costly for them to live in california. They may on occasion come back for a visit. At that point I would consider driving the forty- eight miles one way for a marvelous dinner. But with the forthcoming projected increase in the price of fuel I’m not considering about a one hundred mile drive for a dinner for one.

Last night we went to Guliver’s in Irvine, and from walking in the door to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and lights, we had excellent service:and seated on time, excellent management, waitress and service; over-the-top rack of lamb and Fillet Mignon, and sides, and the my custom order of non-alcoholic Lemon Drop came back a delicious surprise, better than any bartender’s before! We had a wonderful dinner exoerirnce. My late husband and used to frequent this restaurant for years and came back after several years not to be disappointed!
Won’t wait so long to visit again. This is a special place, all year and during Christmas. Thank you to the management.

First time here and really was hoping to get a prime rib plate described by others, however, this was not my day. Came for lunch prime rib, sides and check out the interior. The cut was in the thin side, not nearly as tender and flavorful as expected. The sauce helped with that, but it being cooked or served more medium didn’t help. Now, it wasn’t busy when we got there (see photo), around 12:30. Seemed like only one server in the main room. It’s always possible the steak was at medium rare when cut and plated, but, if the waitress is busy with other tables/duties, the steak continues to cook. The German potato salad was ok, nothing stood out. The broccoli was what it was. The atmosphere was old world, but seemed goofy to some degree. Service was very good and she was tipped accordingly. I won’t be visiting again, but we have it a shot.
