I just flew in to town and came here for a big helping of seafood and this sweet young lady came by and was the greatest server I’ve ever encountered. Kaitlyn was just amazing and suggested the most amazing shrimp and tacos that I’ve ever had. Her positive attitude and outstanding personality changed my whole night into a better one. Loved the atmosphere of this place! The menu looks built around sharing with large groups of people. As I was by myself and was feeling more peckish than extremely hungry, decided to try just their clam chowder which was actually quite nice. Friendly staff and service. Excellent location with views of the river as well as the tower bridge.

The food is reliable however basic, what you expect from a chain. The service, Armando in particular was excellent, despite being busy. Major reason to select this place: the view, which is exceptional at sunset. Tower bridge and sea lions seasonally over Sacramento River.

If you’re looking for good seafood, this is definitely not the place to go in downtown Sacramento. There’s many other places that would hit the spot. This is more of a tourist attraction. They overcharged us for our clam chowder. The portion was extremely small. I got the captains platter. this plate was not worth the money that was spent. The crab was overcooked and extremely small legs with barely any meat. The fish was ok the one good thing about this place is the views that’s why I gave it three stars for the atmosphere besides that the service was horrendous. Nobody checked on us and when they brought us our clam chowder it was thick like it had been just sitting there all day. I would definitely not recommend this place for seafood.

Took the family out here for Christmas since we usually never go out on this day. Personally, I am not a huge seafood fan but everything here was delicious. The crab dip was my favorite part of the meal. I want to thank the staff for working on Christmas and the service was amazing.

We were visiting Sacramento on Sunday in late October and had lunch here. It was very busy and glad that we had a reservation. We still had to wait since we wanted to have window seat. A table opened up outdoor and we had a nice view of the river. We have eaten in Joe’s Crab Shack at Oceanside. The food and drinks were delicious. Service was good.

Ivie was amazing, very friendly, attentive and was the same with all the tables she was taking care of! As always with Joe’s, the food was great at a good price for what ypu get. Can’t beat the location, watching the sun set next to the river with a view of the bridge….Can’t beat it!

This review is based on having tempered expectations for a chain style restaurant. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We just got a burger and some chowder. They were both incredibly satisfying. Jeremiah was a breath of fresh air, honest, helpful and down to earth. The view on the deck is worth a return trip in itself.
