Great gem to have in Hanmer Springs.
Best Tandoori chicken I’ve ever had as it was super tender and can tell the chefs care.
Chicken Achari and Garlic Naan were packed full of flavour and the Naan was exactly the same style I received in India. It’s great to see how much the staff care and the nice garnish on the Achari with Biryani onions. You do notice.
Definitely will be back.
Good atmosphere with Indian music in the background but at a nice low level as to not interfere with the dinning experience.
Food was great. Had the Chicken tikka masala which is my standard go-to when having Indian, and a nice Cheese-Garlic Naan. Was happy with both.
The price I found very reasonable considering this is a resort / tourist town.
%100 recommend.
From entering the customer service was friendly and professional. We served with a smile. We ordered our meals and asked for lots of rice and they asked regularly to make sure we were happy with the amount of rice.
The sauces were lovely and thick, I was also very impressed with the meat quality as the lamb with soft and delicious. The chicken as well soft with lots of flavor, this is a common problem at many Indian restaurants to dry out the meat by over cooking it.
I can honestly say I look forward to coming here again and having another beautiful dish.
Chicken Biryani, however tasted more like a flavoured fried rice than actual biryani.
Service was great, the staff were friendly and attentive.
The ambience had a cozy, local vibe, which made the place feel welcoming.
A takeaway we had last year in the winter we noticed the portion sizes were smaller than previous visits, and the sauces/gravy were thinner than usual, quite runny actually.
We are back in Hanmer this weekend and decided to give Indian Springs another go with a takeaway, we ordered online and the curries were ready when we arrived, service was good upon arrival.
That was as good as it got, again the curry portions were both smaller than in the past, the sauces/gravy were both runny, seems like it had been watered down quite a bit, both curries were bland and lacked in flavour. The naan bread wasn’t that great either.
I know times are tough in the hospitality business, but reducing the quality and quantity of the ingredients and flavours is not the way to go.
Needless to say we won’t be returning during our future stays in Hanmer Springs, which is a real shame.
