This place was heralded as the best burger in Texas. Indeed, it was an outstanding burger at a fair price. However, service left me frustrated. Their process is cooking about 13-19 burgers at a time with about a 20 minute turn between rounds. It took us two rounds to get our burger, so slightly over 40 minutes. Burgers are about all they serve (grilled cheese, BLT, and hot dogs are also on the menu). No sides except bags of chips. Additionally, they allow smoking indoors, which is almost unheard of nowadays. It was an unpleasant odor and distraction. This is very much a local place and I don’t know they take kindly to tourists (I think my crocs gave me away!). Servers were matter-of-fact with a “like us or don’t” persona. They worked hard and are victims of their process. If you want an excellent burger and have time to sip a beer or two while you wait, Woody’s will work for you. For me, the burger lived up to the hype but the process and atmosphere diminished it. If I went again, I’d do the walk-up window and get it to go.

One my favorite places to grab a cold beer since moving here. All the elements of a dive bar with a regulation shuffle board table and pool tables. AND they happen to serve the best burgers in town! If you’re looking for a family atmosphere, this isn’t the place for you. However, families are welcome and I’ve seen many children there. They only have chips for the burgers, and you must try the chili when it’s in season. Service is always great and prices won’t break the bank.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The wait was extremely long. They do not have fries, you get a bag of chips. They allow smoking inside so you get your burger with a side of cancer. The burger was not great at all, I’d rather of had a school lunch burger. We walked in and told the waitress we have never been there before. She was nice and took our order. I asked for the ticket, she came back I went to hand her my card and was told they’re cash only. Hmm that’s something you should’ve mentioned when we walked inside… But hey they have an ATM so they can scam you out of money after you eat.
I’d never recommend anyone go there. The burger is low tier at best. There is smoke all over the place. This place is stuck in the past and has not moved forward with ever other restaurant.

Excellent food, but limited. Chips only, no fries like Herds in Jacksboro. The beer is cold, and the burgers are delicious! It’s a little loud during peak!

Let’s talk burgers! If you are in the mood for a great burger take a drive to this little hidden gem in Mineral Wells Texas. The ingredients are fresh everything is seasoned perfectly, and the fried bun is the icing on the cake. This is by far one to the best burgers you and get and if you don’t live in Mineral Wells it’s worth the drive. my brother’s live in Fort Worth and are willing to take the drive when they are in the mood for this delicious treat. If you have kids or an issue with smoke you may want to sit outside as it is a smoke friendly environment. Also you can not use your card so make sure you have cash.

Atmosphere was the best thing about this place. Burger was nothing to write home about, stale bun and hockey puck patties, no juice or moisture at all. On top of that they just have commercial potato chips as….really?. The waitress, Cindy, was no charmer and did not help contribute in any form or fashion. The woman helping Cindy was overwhelmed but at least somewhat hospitable. Overall an hour and 45 min for a c+ burger….at least they had cold beer. Hard pass

We stayed at the Crazy Water Hotel for 2 nights … we asked for recommendations and Woody’s came HIGHLY recommended so we decided to go for lunch … we were told they had the best burgers in town, which may have be true for Mineral Wells, but Best Burger in Texas? I don’t think so, but then, everyone has their own opinion of what a “best burger” is! It’s very dark inside, I guess as you would expect from a bar … it’s very old and the table we sat it had lots of exposed wires beside us and lots of dust … there were many patrons, lots of men workers stopping by for lunch … their prices are very good, simple menu with lots of add-on options … they only offer chips, no fries and drinks are canned … they do offer indoor and outdoor seating…they also have a pool table.
