This is a local favorite. Great for al fresco dining and people watching on the street. Everyone here is family and the owner Francisco is always in the house. Behind the bar, in the kitchen, or sitting with patrons for a lite Spanish tapas.
The food is authentic and amazing from Spain with Love. A Beer, and some Ibirico Ham with pan con tomate is a perfect afternoon here.

We had a perfect, leisurely lunch with local friends. I’ve never seen this place recommended on social media, and I’m quite happy for that. However, plenty of people were dining here on a Sunday afternoon, so it’s not exactly a secret. Absolutely a must try spot if you are in Polanco and you enjoy tapas.

Fantastic place! The tapas are topnotch and the Rioja wine was great. My vegetarian friend also loved the patatas bravas. Our waiter was so nice and practiced his English with us while we practiced our Spanish with him. Genuine moments like this over food are what make Mexico City amazing. We were seated outside which could be a bit noisy but it was still cozy.

Incredible dining experience at La Barra de Fran! Every dish was high quality, beautifully presented, and full of creative flair. The portions were generous, perfect for sharing or indulging, and the basque cheesecake is a must. Service was top-notch, warm, and attentive. A well-deserved Michelin recommendation. Nice outdoor seating, very cozy ambience. Menu was somewhat varied: tapas, appetizers, main dishes (chicken, fish, meat). Drinks and cocktails were decently priced. Overall the menu was not very expensive for what you get. Loved the pork tapas, the broken eggs with chistorra, and the fideua, more than enough for a party of two. Good wine selection by the glass. Friendly and efficient staff. Everything was clean and sanitized. A good option for Spanish food in Polanco

I was very disappointed with the food here. The service was great though and they have a nice selection of Spanish beers. The cheese and the jamón were okay but I was expecting better quality. The “ensaladilla rusa” had way too much mayo, I’ve had the dish many time so I know it has a lot of mayo but this was too much to have more than a couple spoonfuls of the dish. The “croquetas” we’re undercooked abs lacked flavor. The pork that we ordered as a main was lacking flavor and tasted like it had been unfrozen. I wouldn’t recommend this for Spanish food. There are definitely better Spanish restaurants in Mexico City.

Amazing Spanish restaurant right next to Polanquito. I adore this place – so cozy and always full. The service is attentive and quick. I recommend ordering to share so you can try all the dishes – the concept is tapas and various entrees. The patatas bravas and croquetas de jamón ibérico are a must. My favorite entree was the seafood fideuá, it was delicious and had calamari, shrimp, octopus and was very crunchy. Prices are high.

We are definitely going back to try more items from the menu. The service was friendly and not pushy which is appreciated. All the food and our drinks (an old fashioned, draft beer, and Ribera del Duero wine) were perfect. You can’t go wrong with the arroz negro con gambas and chipirones.

I had a disappointing experience in this restaurant , I had a table at 19:00 and they didn’t have availability of several dishes including desserts. Bad planning from the chef which impacted my experience in this restaurant.
