Second time at Komodo Dallas, first time for dinner.
Went on a Friday and it was calm, very different from when they first opened and we waited over an hour after our reservation.

We did the Dragon Experience ($85/person, family-style) since it was a group dinner. Overall, most of the food leaned really salty for me and didn’t fully hit.

Their Money Bag Dumplings didn’t stand out. The Salmon Miso was inconsistent, some pieces were nicely cooked, others were basically raw, so not everyone ate it. That said, the crispy eggplant with it was actually tasty, great fry on it. I wish we asked for more of the spicy mayo from the Brussels sprouts because it paired really well with the eggplant.

The NY strip was cooked perfectly medium rare, but the glaze or sauce didn’t feel like anything special.

The Korean Fried Chicken looked glazed and beautiful but just didn’t taste as good as it looked and was still too salty for me.

I don’t usually say this, but the spicy tuna roll wasn’t bad, which makes me think ordering more rolls might be the better move here instead of the prix fixe.

The only dish I’d come back for is dessert. The Yuzu Raspberry Dumpling was the standout, perfect white chocolate shell, light filling, not too sweet. Easily the best bite of the night.

Service was good, as expected, and the cocktails were tasty, so maybe cocktails and dessert next time.

I’m giving it 4-stars because of the dessert. Very memorable.

Tried Komodo for the first time for my boyfriend’s birthday and we loved it!! Our entire experience was a 10/10. We went early around 5:30 and it was quiet and not very busy. Our waitress was so kind and brought us out champagne to celebrate. Our drinks were amazing and so was the food! Huge portions and everything was flavorful. We can’t wait to go back!

Such a stylish and modern place! The food was absolutely outstanding and full of flavor. Perfect for a classy date night or an evening out with friends. Our server, Jourdan M., made the experience even better with amazing service and great recommendations. I went on a Thursday, and even though it was busy later in the evening, the atmosphere stayed relaxed and fun. Definitely a spot worth visiting again!

Komodo Dallas is an easy five-star experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is stunning, modern, and full of energy, and my waiter Braeden delivered perfect service the entire night — attentive, friendly, and always on point. Every dish I ordered was exceptional, including the Wagyu Beef Dumplings, Duck Lo Mein, Spicy Tuna Maki, Rainbow Maki, Salmon Truffle Maki, and the incredibly soft Japanese Milk Bread, plus a Sprite and a large Evian. Everything was fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, and cooked exactly right. Between the incredible food, the amazing interior design, and the outstanding service from Braeden, this is truly one of the best dining experiences in Dallas and absolutely worth a full five stars.

This was my second time visiting Komodo after 2 years and I gotta say I was highly disappointed . The first time I visited was a great experience but this time, not so much.

1. Our server Courtney wasn’t very attentive and didn’t do much to rectify the issues that were at hand.
2. I ordered an espresso martini & my friend had a green matcha looking drink; they both tasted exactly the same, just different colors and barely any alcohol.
3. I had a steak & had to eat it with a plastic fork & a huge butter knife because they ran out of utensils. Just imagine me eating a steak whole. It was horrible. The steak was tough even though I asked for medium, and steak was stuck between my teeth the entire night.
4. The fried rice I ordered was extremely salty, my Brussel sprouts were drowning in a sauce that was also very salty and overwhelming.
5. The edamame appetizer had no salt/no taste. The chicken bites were over cooked. However, the sushi and shrimp rolls were good.
6. They served my bf this cookie/cereal dessert with yogurt in the middle for his bday and it was horrible.

With that said, if I ever return to Komodo it’ll be for the ambiance . The place is decorated beautifully and has several locations to take pictures. I will say the whole sharing a restroom with men needs to be revisited. With a bunch of women standing in the door way, most men don’t know that the bathroom is for them as well, and overall, it’s just uncomfortable for women period. If you go, don’t order a steak. Stick to the sushi and main plate’s perhaps.

My experience was great! The ambiance and atmosphere of the place was wonderful and all vibes. Service was good as well. Just a FYI, $8 dollars for water per bottle sooooo you’re better off getting a cocktail

I had mixed feelings about my recent visit. On the positive side, the atmosphere was wonderful and the food was excellent—both the flavor and the presentation were top-tier.
However, the service was disappointing. Shortly after our food arrived, it felt like we were being rushed to finish and leave. We weren’t asked if we wanted additional drinks; instead, the only check-ins were to see if we wanted the bill or a box. Additionally, we noticed a few charges on the check that weren’t mentioned upfront. While the meal itself was great, the service experience definitely impacted the evening

Komodo Dallas is hands-down one of the most luxurious, immersive dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I felt celebrated the red carpet leading to the entrance, warm lighting, and soft, glowing blossoms created a feeling of quiet exclusivity. The attention to detail in the decor from velvet-like drapes in the hallway to illuminated cherry-blossom reflections on the columns was breathtaking.

The hospitality was equally unforgettable. I came in solo, ordered a beverage, and stepped away briefly. When I returned, not only was my drink waiting, but a full plate of food had been placed at my table. I didn’t know if it was a thoughtful surprise from the staff or someone admiring me from afar but it was absolutely perfect. I also ordered warm lobster rolls, which were exquisite, and finished with Banana in a Pagoda layers of cheesecake-like ice cream, roasted banana, miso caramel, in a chocolate velvet box dripping in chocolate and gold trim. Chef’s kiss.

From the unexpected dishes to the attentive, playful service, the experience was magical. And of course, I left with full Queen energy Ruby Woo lips, heels, clutch in hand, feeling celebrated from top to bottom.

Komodo Dallas is perfect for birthdays, romantic dinners, or treating yourself solo. I’ll absolutely be back.

Komodo was EVERYTHING and then some! Food was amazing, ambience was amazing, details and photo ops were amazing! 10/10! And with a reservation we were seated right away. I will say, it’s definitely pricier than an average restaurant but it’s an above average restaurant so that’s expected. So nice for a special occasion. valet was $10 which isn’t bad at all.
