Food — in town to see family and stopped here for a hearty breakfast after an early wakeup and flight from ATL and was so happy I did! Always looking for great biscuits and gravy, so I zeroed in pretty quick on it without giving much of anything else a shot. Added a side of sausage which was excellent, I mean I had to with the name of the restaurant. The gravy and biscuit was spot on in terms of texture, fluffy biscuits and superb sausage gravy. Needed just a little pepper and salt for flavor, but an overall amazing dish. Tons of other options looked super yums, so I’d love to try a bunch.
Drink — just had water, but they seemed to have some great coffee options and had a healthy selection of beer as well. Seems like a fun place to chill and have coffee (or beer!!!) by the fire. Many seemed to be studying or meeting with groups over food and coffee.
Service — excellent!! Friendly, helpful and prompt on service. Constant checking on me to see how everything was and if they could help with anything. Lost my metro ticket and thought I had left there, and several employees helped me look for it. Found it on the sidewalk up ahead (like I said, early morning and long day 🙂
Atmosphere — love it!!! Great seating, a fire going, and a wall full of cool gifts such as coffee, tea, candles and many more. An authentic country store and not the corporate vibe of a Cracker Barrell. All seemingly local and independent products available.
Value — good value. Reasonable prices and always willing to pay a bit more for great food and friendly service.
Summary — if you’re in The Lou, stop in for some coffee, great breakfast food service, awesome atmosphere, and maybe even a beer!!!
Highly recommend eating here.
From the moment you walk in, it just feels good. There’s a cozy fireplace and a cute little shop to wander through. The food? Absolutely delish. You can tell they care about where it comes from and how it’s made.
Oh, And the service was fantastic.
They were also very knowledgeable about my gluten-free restrictions, which I very much appreciated!
One of the cutest touches? Instead of a number for your table, they bring you a photo of one of their actual cows from the farm, complete with its name. Ours was Fido.
We even grabbed some fresh steaks from their freezer section to take home—and they were absolutely amazing. Great food, great vibes, and worth a stop.
