I hate writing bad reviews, but dammit, y’all left me no choice. I used to order from here before, and it was definitely better than what it is now. I’m not going to hype it up like it was amazing back then, but it was a lot better than this. I’ve ordered the same meal plenty of times but this is the third time I’ve ordered the whiting and mac and cheese, and it’s horrible. The mac and cheese is so oily that I literally have to drain the grease off before I can eat it. That’s crazy.
The whiting tastes like it’s been sitting out for days. I tried drowning it in hot sauce to make it better, and it didn’t help. I have three full pieces of fish sitting here that I’m not going to eat.
Super disappointing. 3 strikes you’re out definitely not worth it anymore.

Baby this place is a hidden gem ! We were travel tired of DC traffic and googled some close by eats. We had chicken and waffles, chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese desserts banana pudding and strawberry cheesecake and let’s not forget the homemade half and half ! Everything was bursting with flavors, friendly staff and we even got to say hello to the man that made this amazing food. Everything is made fresh to order and worth the wait!! Oh best part I don’t eat pork and this place is Halal so I didn’t not have to worry about cross contamination like most places. We will be returning next trip! Many blessings to this establishment !!

I had an amazing experience at Southern Style Chicken & Waffle! I ordered the chicken and waffle combo with a lemonade and cheesecake for dessert, and everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and the waffles were fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. The lemonade was refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal, and the cheesecake was smooth, rich, and the perfect sweet ending.

We ordered a four piece chicken wings with fries and the three piece lemon pepper tenders and waffle. Everything was exceptional delicious! They cook everything to order so it’s nice and hot when you get it. The wings had a great flavor very well seasoned. Nice and crispy. Wayyy better than any other chain of fried chicken and I love some fried chicken. The tenders were large as you can tell from the picture and seasoned well with just the right amount of lemon pepper seasoning. I didn’t get her name but the lady at the register was super nice too. Oh they also have half and half sweet tea that was great too! Will be going back again soon!!

I truly enjoy my chicken and waffles. You have the option of choosing what type of chicken. For example, dark meat or white meat and they serve Belgian Waffles. Also, they offer chicken sandwiches. This particular location is a (walk- in) with no waiters. When you arrive they take your order at the counter they don’t offer fountain drinks but sell bottle drinks (sodas).

The best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. I ate here twice while out of town and will definitely come again when driving through. We tried the spicy dark meat, regular dark meat and the tenders. All amazing. Also the half and half and the lemonade worth getting. Mac and cheese on point. You won’t regret eating it. A little slow in preparing but worth it.

Their fried chicken is a standout. A little on the salty side but partly why it tastes good They serve it with Mambo sauce on the side and the sauce is good. But I like the chicken even without the sauce. My favorite is the lemon pepper chicken. Their waffles are also very good.
I tried their creamed spinach and it was too dry/heavy for me and I don’t recommend it. I went with a coworker who got their mac and cheese and he said it was good.
There’s nothing wrong with the atmosphere. It gets lots of sunlight and it’s clean. But you’re not coming here for the atmosphere.

I dined in and the food and service was great. It was my first time there and they talked me through the menu and gave me recommendations. I tried the spicy tenders with a waffle and Mac and cheese. All the food was good, including the sauces.
