I would like to thank Harold the GM and Jordan from guest relations and all the staffs for their customer service and fast response to address my concern. My first experience was not the greatest but with their help and support I gave them an opportunity to fix the issue. They gave me a $25 giftcard to go back and see the improvements and I can say I am impressed.i knew that my first experience was a one off but it was still concerning that’s why I had to post 1 star . But YES it was a ONE OFF!!! I brought my family there tonight. Party of 5. All went well. I don’t think they knew i was returning but I wanted it that way to keep it . Food services staffs were 5 stars ✨️. No complaints. My family and I enjoyed the food and staffs. They were very attentive and food came out perfect the first go round. We would definitely go back and I would definitely recommend it to ALL I am glad I when back and will be going back because this location do care and show that they can take accountability. 5 stars all way around. Great job. Thank you all for all you do and the Crown whiskey sour was Fire … lastly shout out to our waitress/server… you are awesome!!

Horrible horrible just horrible. The only good thing out of this experience was Amanda the server was decent , she was overwhelmed at the bar. Kitchen staff was horrible the food was horrible
The double crunch shrimp was soggy no crunch and it was cold didn’t eat it.
The chicken broccoli Alfredo, broccoli was soggy, noodles were greasy and looked like it sat out for a while,
The chicken parm we weren’t even brought a knife to cut the chicken.
The side salads were NEVER brought out I had to say something 3 times to the manager on duty no less , finally the salads were brought out in a to go box when check was brought.
The manager on duty is a joke when I was complaining to him about the undersized portion of shrimp and fries (it literally looked like a child menu item) and asked would he eat something that looked like that his only response was I don’t eat shrimp sir I didn’t ask that.
Over all avoid applebees in Sumter if at all possible, hell for the experience you’ll get here go to cook out at least the food will match the cost.
Cost 52$ and it was 100% a waste.
3 out of 4 of the menu items ordered were a disaster, and would be considered an insult to an actual cook/chef.
If I could give the food a negative star I would.

I brought my daughter to Applebee’s for her 15th birthday for a nice family dinner I ordered 8 oz steak with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli it was the nastiest steak I ever had in my life I couldn’t even eat it and I’m not picky at all. The potatoes were ok but had nasty Brown hard parts in it my daughter’s sweet tea cup had white caked up stuff in it which was gross we had to get a new one but didn’t realize it until she already drank some and my daughter’s chicken parmesan fettuccine looked and tasted like the dollar general chicken alfredo for a dollar my husband and other daughter got the bacon chicken burger with fries they said it was an ok sandwich I thought the fries were the only decent thing we got it’s really sad to say but I’ve had way better food at a fast food restaurant that was my first and last time ever going to Applebee’s and we spent 94$ plus a 20$ tip I almost forgot I watched the bartenders drop the cherries all over the place pick them up and put them right back in the people’s drinks
edit: after everything the manger helped us resolve all of our issues there she is such a nice person and doing a wonderful job. therefore I will now give a 3 star just because of the conversation me and the manager had.

I visited this restaurant on Sunday July 20th and was very surprised by what I saw. I sat at the bar, there was no bartender. Fans were running and the AC was out. Employees were walking and some scrambling everywhere. After about 10 mins I finally met the bartender. Someone had called out and she was trying to run the bar and wait tables. The kitchen was messing up and dropping things but this young lady was doing the best she could to do everything. It took at least 20 mins for my food to come out and when it did it wasn’t good. It was rushed and ill prepared. However, the young lady that served me deserves praise. It seems as if instead of balancing the responsibilities of the call out amongst the whole team, everything was thrown on the bartender. I watched this young lady seat people as a hostess in order to give the hostess a break, run to the bar and wash dishes, constantly update me on my order while waiting at least 5 tables, she checked on the kitchen crew to make sure no one was hurt after things fell. She was literally a little energizer bunny and what’s worse is, the other employees kept throwing her under the bus instead of helping out. That restaurant needs better management. I was very disappointed in my visit after driving from florence to Sumter.

Our food was actually pretty good tonight. In today’s day and age eating out is typically expensive, but $25 for what we had was pretty fair. We Ordered online for curbside pickup and everything was obviously made fresh, ready to pickup earlier than anticipated and the customer service was great. We also ordered near closing time (and we all know the probability of rude/bad service near closing time with restaurant’s are pretty likely) So we’ll be swinging by again soon

Our waitress Alyssa was absolutely fantastic. They were unbelievably understaffed and overworked, but she was so efficient and so sweet. Even with how long everything took because of the lack of staff, she made the best of the situation and really made our experience worth it.

They served me dry overcooked chicken Alfredo. Then told me to come get a replacement. Waisted my gas and time. I will only to go Columbia for food! Sumter doesn’t do right by people that’s why I don’t support ppl in Sumter!

The manager and waitress were truly trying their best, they were friendly. The host rolled his eyes at us and sighed when we said party of 5. Our appetizers were forgotten about but they eventually brought them out after our meal, they were cold and looked like they sat out for a long time. Our glasses of water looked dirty so we asked for new ones. We were greeted by a roach also but he was friendlier than the host so we didn’t complain but it was concerning.

really cant even tell you how the food is because we HAVENT BEEN SERVED a single time we’ve tried to go. we went one time and got told they werent taking dine in, only to go, and another time (1/19/26) only to be told they were out of burgers!?!?! staff not verh friendly either. always speak and act like they are miserable and like you being there is a problem. overall, DO NOT EAT HERE.
UPDATE: I would like to add i followed up with customer service and opened a case and was still met with unprofessionalism and disappointment. I feel sorry for anyone who spends money here and forsee the location shutting down in the near future.
