Sometimes you just need classic Tex-Mex! It’s a comfort food. Staff here has been friendly for decades. Food is wonderful and consistent. They make great margaritas and Mexican Martinis too!

Decent food, but their kids food is really not done with any care. We’ve ordered serval kids plates and each time our daughter doesn’t eat them and they are kinda terrible so I don’t blame her. Dry quesedilla, old fries. Chicken tenders with too much breading etc. We will probably avoid in the future as each time our kid goes hungry.

First visit on a Tuesday! Great service and happy hour do specials. Jordan was great loved the Mexican martini said no one can beat it. I have to agree. The Happy hour carnitas en verde(smoked in house) was amazing.

Our server Hector was great and efficient with great service and the food never misses — fresh, flavorful, and consistently great every visit, classic Austin Tex-Mex. In my opinion, this place is an Austin tradition. Highly recommend!

Service is quick, efficient, and friendly. I got the Tootsie Plate (tortilla soup and crispy chicken taco) with an added brisket enchilada. All the brisket dishes are delicious. I deal with electrolyte issues and the salty rich broth of to their tortilla soup calms my symptoms. El Mercado’s tortilla soup is my favorite in the city.
