I also tried a Scottish cider, which paired surprisingly well with the pizza and made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and everything we ordered was delicious.
It’s always a pleasant surprise to find such good Italian pizza abroad. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Edinburgh who wants a genuine Italian taste with a local Scottish touch.
Good desserts and service is also very good! Better if you make a reservation because it might get some people waiting
It was no quality unfortunately.
The food itself was just okay, but unfortunately the overall experience wasn’t great. Our meals took quite a long time to arrive and, when they finally did, only one lasagne was brought out instead of the two we had ordered. The lasagne that did arrive was warm around the outside but cold in the middle. Because we had already waited so long, we decided not to ask for a replacement and ended up sharing the one portion between the three of us. My husband’s pizza was also fairly average, so overall the food fell short of what we expected.
What really impacted the experience, though, was the service. The main waitress, who I believe was Italian, did not come across as very friendly or approachable. Each time we asked a question or tried to clarify something, it seemed to be met with a look of irritation, which made us feel quite uncomfortable. At the end of the meal, she added a tip to the bill and asked if we were okay with it, which felt inappropriate given the service we had received.
If management reads this, I would suggest offering staff some guidance on customer service, particularly for families with young children. A warmer and more flexible approach would make a big difference.
