The staff is friendly and service was okay. Nothing to write home about.
The food is always a hit or miss for ME. I am honestly really picky and will try to order things I don’t know if I will like. However, I think most people like it. The Greek lasagna (pictured) didn’t do it for me. I liked the cheese soufflé layer on top. I still give it 5 stars cause honestly I’m pretty sure I’m the issue. My boyfriend loved this. We did order a special which came with the pie!
They have the BEST pie and cake. It’s honestly my favorite. Their burgers are always juicy and delicious.
I have never had any issue with the servers and genuinely been really happy here. It’s a diner and is diner food, but of all the ones I have been to this is my FAVORITE.
When it finally arrived, the plate was visibly dirty. I rubbed the surface with my finger and grime came off — clearly not food residue. The waiter saw it and called over the manager, who attempted to claim it was residue from the food, which was not true. It took actual scrubbing to remove it.
Given the unsanitary condition of the plate and the excessive wait time, I told them I would not be paying for the meal. I did, however, offer to pay for the coffee and chocolate milk. They charged me $9 for those two items.
Between dirty dishes, poor service, long wait times, and being overcharged, I will never return. The phrase “the customer is always right” clearly isn’t part of their culture — even when the customer truly is right.
Very disappointing experience.
From the moment you walk in, the genuine hospitality that John, Kostas, and their team exude makes you feel instantly welcome. They are truly dedicated to their customers and their locale.
Beyond the fantastic atmosphere, the quality of the cooking is consistently superb. Whether you’re craving a classic breakfast, a satisfying lunch, or a comforting dinner, the food is fresh, high-quality, and delicious every time.
If you are anywhere near Branford, this is an absolute, non-negotiable must-visit. Support this fantastic local legacy business!
The place is very cozy and cute though, classic vintage diner look. The staff was very pleasant and the coffee was hot!
Overall, I probably won’t be back again but it could be great for someone!
Updated… went there for breakfast this morning and got an item on the specials called the Jimmy Bowl, which was eggs, chorizo sausage, peppers, rice, onion , cheese, “home fries” and avocado. I was a little disappointed in seeing that they’ve changed their home fries to hash browns (shredded potato). It was still really good though.
