I ordered four meals worth $100.00 plus.
1st order Conch and Fries
2nd order Conch, Collard Greens, Mac and Cheese and a size of Yams
3rd Order Fried chicken, Red Beans and Collard Greens.
1- 3 shrimp and Fries kids meal
2- orders of Conch Fritters
1- Red Velvet Pound cake
3 – Lemonades
First when we walked in the restaurant we wasn’t sure anyone was there because no one was at the front, waiting a few and a young man came from one side to another scratching his head I asked are you a cook? He said yes I said I hope you wash your hands before you start cooking. He just nodded! The lady that took my order was very nice and patient. She told me the wing dinner comes a whole wing, they didn’t!
I met a brother and sister that were there and shared a piece of their Cat Fish with me, I might say it was good! I normally don’t eat cat Fish. All meals come with a bed of yellow rice. The conch was overly seasoned, Mac and cheese, yellow rice and yams were okay, the chicken wasn’t full wings, they were cooked in old grease and I didn’t eat anything on my plate after a taste testers. The wings tasted like regular friend chicken, Red Beans taste like kidney beans verse red beans from Popeys which I was told they would be cooked NO style. The conch fritter were good well the first patch was the second patch wasn’t good because they were full of grease. The lemonade was good and the cake was tasty. The bathroom looks old and needs some remodeling along with a deep cleaning. This pissed me off because I spent good money to not enjoy my food or to have poor quality food. I hope the owner fixes this problem.

Tables were not tidy. In fact a little sticky.
Meat made fresh so the fish amd chicken was hot. Green beans almost over on the cook. Fish was salty. Rice sis not look like dirty/Cajun rice it was just rice. Sweet potatoes were good also heavily sugar. And the juice was so sweet we had to wait for the ice to melt to try and drink it. It is ssssswwwweeeeetttt. Boy it was high blood pressure and sugar in a single dish.. it was ok. If we are near we will try again. Not making a special stop like we did this time.
My aunt told me years ago. If the bathroom isn’t clean neither is the kitchen. The ladies bathroom could use some tidying up. So I was disappointed .

My first time here was a great experience. The food was pretty good overall—the chicken was well-seasoned, and the macaroni was on point. While the string beans were a bit salty, they were still good. I especially liked that the candied yams weren’t overwhelmingly sweet. I was a little disappointed they were out of peach cobbler and sweet potato pie, but I’ll definitely be back to try more.

One of my fav’s for comfort / soul food ….hear me out. I’m reading the reviews and I don’t know if people maybe went on an off day or maybe there was a different cook idk , but they have never missed with me….the food is consistently good . My complaint are the hours on Sundays etc, and the wait time , but other than that I feel like it’s a hidden gem and I’m not on socials so I’m not being persuaded lol it’s genuinely good food !

When they first opened Food was bomb . I can’t say the same now . Wings were good but the SIDES needs WORK. Mac is definitely different . Rice was not needed on the plate.

I was left disappointed after paying over $40 food. I’m definitely missing a few scoops of rice…. Macaroni and cheese had no flavor whatsoever. Very congealed, tasted like Publix Mac and cheese in the case. this isn’t southern style Mac and cheese. My Strawberry Shortcake was dry, icing hard and crunch. Should probably be stored in the cooler to preserves moisture. The collard greens were okay. The chicken was crispy and nice. The conch was a very small portion size for the price but flavorful. Overall I was very upset at the amount of rice that the meal lacked for the price I paid as well as the Mac and cheese

I did takeout and the service and atmosphere were wonderful. The only problem I have is the vegetables. Anytime I order green beans or collard greens they are so salty that when I get it home I have to dispose of them. Still wondering how whoever making those 2 sides is not tasting them before they send them out. All the other sides is wonderful. This is not the first time it happened, it’s every time. Just cut back on the seasoning in those 2 vegetables and everything should be fine. If you decide to order those 2 vegetables you need to sample them before you take them home because that much salt is very unnecessary.
