Originating in 2011 with the opening of Farmhouse Tavern in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, Farmheads is a hospitality group with the mission of offering affordable, approachable Midwestern fare based on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients. We even have a farm in Mineral Point Wisconsin called Brown Dog Farm. With over 50 bee hives, a growing garden of fruits and vegetables, farmer TJ is kept very very busy bringing us the bounty of the midwest. Come join our family table and enjoy the food your grandmother would have made and enjoy a cocktail or a glass of beer or wine with us. Bring the Family!

Farm-to-table American eats plus housemade ciders, craft beer, cocktails & tap wines in tavern digs.

So glad to have stumbled upon Farm Bar before attending a Musical just around the corner. The honey glazed pork chop was delicious. Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food. Warm and inviting place. The perfect neighborhood restaurant with an high end feel.

The shakshuka and burger was so tasty! We also tried the cheese curds, they were unique not as traditional as I’ve tried before but very light and cheesy. I wish there was more in the portion. Prices are a bit high but we left satisfied and would return.

We just happened to stop by this restaurant because it was a few doors down from my daughter’s apartment, who just moved to Chicago. Hey. Just a few appetizers and some drinks. But. After looking at the menu, suddenly we all grew an appetite. We couldn’t help but try some of the entrees. Glad we did. The salmon and chicken dishes were superb. The cheese curds excellent. We are still thinking about them. They were that good. And the service was warm and welcoming. Like we were family. Thanks to Autumn and Will for making us feel at home. .

A cozy yet lively neighborhood spot serving hearty Midwestern plates – standouts included the chewy cheese curds, earthy maitake mushrooms, and the Michigan burger, with an unexpectedly sweet flavor but still very delicious. Our server Veronica was warm and playful and made the experience all the more enjoyable. A lovely visit and will definitely return for more!

Really great food, atmosphere, and service!

Can’t go wrong with their classic burger, if you like burgers. If not, they have a wide selection of food and drinks.

What drew us into Farm Bar was their commitment to responsibly sourced food, especially their meat — it’s refreshing to see a restaurant so intentional about where their ingredients come from. That care translates beautifully into the food. The pot roast is rich and comforting, a standout dish, and the cheese curds are perfectly crispy and addictive.

Beyond the food, they’ve put real thought into the drink menu. Whether you’re looking for a creative mocktail or a solid cocktail from their full bar, there’s something for everyone.

The ambiance is warm, inviting, and just feels like it belongs in the neighborhood.

We had an okay-ish experience. We had to wait for about 20 mins past our reservation time. A few mins here and there is alright but 20 mins just having to wait at the bar when the space itself is a little small was not the best experience.
I liked the cheese curds. They are more on the oily-greasy side but tasted good regardless. Service was alright. I really enjoyed my cocktail and the outside patio is nice.

Farm Bar is a very cozy neighborhood restaurant. My mom is handicapped and needed assistance getting up the couple stairs at the entrance. All of the staff were willing to help her in. The food was delicious. It was served quickly and hot. I would highly recommend making reservations as the venue is quite small and quickly fills up.

Went here on a weekend morning for some brunch. The food was delicious and quite filling. Make sure to make a reservation because it’s a small place and can fill up quickly. We split a few things, getting the cheese curds (delicious), the chilaquiles (also delicious) and the fried chicken. The chilaquiles had a ton of flavor and a nice combo of all the ingredients, but our favorite was the fried chicken and biscuits. The chicken was juicy and so tasty and went perfectly with the biscuits and gravy. So savory but surprisingly not super heavy. Definitely want to go back and try some other things on the menu.
