Came here for the first time with my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day. The atmosphere drew us in immediately then the service was A1. Brian was a sweetheart and tended to every need like it was no problem. Then the food. Every bite was just as good as the last, maybe better. We even got dessert (we never order dessert). Definitely will be back in the future.

This was my husband’s and my first time dining at Morton’s Steakhouse in Cleveland, and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The food was absolutely not worth the price, and the hype surrounding this place is definitely overrated.

I ordered the 12 oz filet, and my husband ordered the tomahawk steak. Both steaks came out burnt, which you can clearly see in the photo. For a high-end steakhouse, this was unacceptable.

We also ordered a Caesar salad, and it was honestly horrible. The smell alone was overwhelming—it reeked of fish. We couldn’t even eat it. Our waitress was kind enough to bring us a plain salad with dressing on the side, but sadly it still smelled and tasted like fish. It was obvious the dressing had way too many anchovies, making it completely inedible.

We attempted to order a loaded baked potato with no salt, but were told they couldn’t accommodate that request. Instead, we ordered onion rings, which arrived cold and tasted awful.

The only positive thing I can say is that the bread was good.

Overall, for first-timers, we were not impressed at all. With prices this high, we expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, this visit did not come anywhere close to “wow.”

The only thing more wonderful than the food was the service. Came on a Wednesday night so not too busy…everything was perfect. Get the Cajun Ribeye.. You won’t regret it!

We dine at Morton’s Steakhouse about four to five times a year and have generally had good experiences in the past, which makes this visit especially disappointing. Unfortunately, this was hands down the worst dining experience we’ve ever had at Morton’s—or any upscale restaurant.

After being seated, it took 25 minutes for anyone to come to our table to ask what we wanted to drink. Once we finally ordered, it took an additional 20 minutes just to receive our drinks. Our server never introduced herself, so I can’t even provide her name. Her demeanor was rude and dismissive—every time she didn’t hear or understand what we said, she responded with a sharp “What?” instead of something polite like, “I’m sorry, could you repeat that?” She was also extremely forgetful and repeatedly failed to put in our drink orders, causing long delays between rounds.

We then waited 30 minutes for our appetizers: bacon-wrapped scallops and Rockefeller oysters. Both arrived cold. The scallops were overcooked and rubbery, and noticeably smaller than what Morton’s used to serve. We received only three tiny scallops, whereas we used to get four larger ones. The Rockefeller oysters were the worst I’ve ever had—this was my first time trying them, and I’ll never order them again. I usually get the raw oysters, which are far better.

Our entrées took over an hour to arrive, despite the restaurant not being busy at all. Tables seated after us—with four or five people—received their food before we did, while there were only two of us.

When the food finally arrived, it was stone cold.
• My husband ordered lamb chops, requested warm pink inside. They came out rare, barely cooked inside, and only grilled on the outside.
• I ordered the filet mignon and lobster tail. Both were cold, and the lobster tail was extremely salty.
• The cream spinach and mac and cheese were clearly sitting under a warmer for far too long.

We informed our server that the food was cold and unacceptable. Her response was simply, “Okay, I can have them warm it up.” When my filet was returned, it was no longer a filet—it was dry, overcooked, and more like a roast. The lobster tail was also dry from being reheated.

My husband’s lamb chops were sent back to be cooked longer. When they returned, the bones were burnt and brittle, literally breaking apart—a clear sign of being overcooked improperly. The inside was still undercooked for his liking and the meat was tough.

The manager did come over and offered dessert. We ordered the lava cake, which was also disappointing—0/10.

To make matters even worse, after we paid our $370 bill, the tip reflected the poor service we received. Our server then made a completely unacceptable comment, saying:
“Are you fing kidding me? You’ve been here for four hours and this is all I get?”*

We were there for four hours because we were waiting on food and service most of that time.

Morton’s has always been a place we enjoyed, but this experience was shocking. The service, food quality, and professionalism have gone downhill significantly. This is no longer worth spending hundreds of dollars on. Honestly, I’ve had better food and service at McDonald’s.

Extremely disappointed.

We went to Morton’s with another couple and our son for my friend’s birthday. This was our first visit. They had a special holiday drink that was very good with proseco, vodka and strawberry. My second drink was a French 75 and that was the best French 75 I ever had. My husband had a smoked old-fashioned that was very well made. He ordered the steak with baked potato and asparagus. He enjoyed his food very much. I had the salmon and vegetables which consisted of broccolini and carrots. The vegetables were delicious, but I requested the salmon to be blackened and on the menu it said it had a maple bourbon glaze. The salmon came out dry. My friend ordered some onion rings with a truffle garlic aïoli, and they were delicious. I used some of the truffle garlic aïoli to dip my salmon in and it was much better. I talked to the server about my son because he has some food aversions and she showed me in the menu where he could order off the bar bites menu. He ordered The Smashburger and fries and loved it! Being that was a Saturday night we did wait for a while for our drinks and food, but the server, Paradise, was always very polite. Our water was always refreshed. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with white table linens, and black silverware linen napkins. Very comfortable and chic with a large wine wall for pictures. I have included our pictures. Overall, a nice evening, but for the price, the salmon should have been blackened to perfection with the glaze as noted in the menu. ( the reason for 4 stars and not 5).

Went here to celebrate a birthday. Server seemed overwhelmed and was not good with checking in on us. Food took a long time to come out and we only ordered 3 items. Pasta came out cold the first time and they reheat to be warm, lobster meat was tough too. The biggest disappointment was the lamb chops. They were burnt and had no flavor. Definitely not worth the money or hype in my option.

Had an incredible dinner at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Cleveland. I ordered the Cajun ribeye along with the lobster mac & cheese, and both were absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice, and the lobster mac was rich, creamy, and highly recommended if you’re visiting.

The service was amazing from start to finish — attentive, professional, and very welcoming. The atmosphere was classic steakhouse elegance, making it perfect for a night out in downtown Cleveland.

If you’re looking for a top-notch steakhouse in Cleveland, Morton’s delivers on both food and experience. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Probably one of the best filets I’ve ever had. Cooked perfectly. Nice sear on the outside, perfectly medium rare on the inside, perfectly seasoned. Hands down best Caesar salad I’ve ever had. Au gratin potatoes were delicious. Broccolini was so unique tasting and delicious as well. Didn’t need any extra salt or pepper at all, everything was perfect. Server checked in an appropriate amount of times and in a timely manner to make sure we had everything we needed to make our dining experience great. We were greeted by hostess in a friendly manner and a timely manner. I will definitely be back!!!
