Have been here about a dozen times in the past year and the food and service have both been consistently enjoyable. It’s the kind of place you can take your family that are wary of “authentic” Mexican food and introduce them to more complex flavors. They also have their entire menu available all day, which is a relief to those of us who want chilaquiles in the evening.

I have tried their enchiladas, tacos, Chilaquiles, pozole, guacamole, pastor, tamales, queso fundido (with the perfect cheese that pulls), and multiple cocktails here and all were nicely seasoned and presented. I have found all the employees to be friendly and accommodating to meal requests and seating requests. Definitely try Presidio!

Having heard that a new Presidio was nearby, we drove over and are so glad we did. Much more spacious than our previous eating adventure at the Thomas Street venue. I was so happy with a new dish to me, the Quesobirria tres taco dish. I asked for sour cream to go with the cilantro and onion toppings. What a treat! With the frenzily-fresh guacamole & chips, we were too full to end with their incredible Flan, which we always end our meal with at Presidio. Our waitress, Ana, was a delight, even though we made her bring our food out to the patio on a not too warm day, where my hearing aids were happier. We were entertained by the sparrows in the shrubbery, rather than the ambient indoor music.

Food was delicious! 10 out of 10
Great service! Will be definitely coming back.
Prices are what they should; maybe French toast is the pricey one.

Presidio Cocina Mexicana has officially become one of my favorite go-to spots in Phoenix. They’ve moved to their new location just off 7th St, north of McDowell, and from the moment you walk in, you can feel the great energy and welcoming vibe.

On my first visit, I ordered the trio fajitas with chicken, steak, and shrimp, served with rice, beans, and fresh tortillas. Everything was flavorful, but the steak stole the show so much so that I came back and ordered the steak fajitas on my second visit, and they were just as incredible.

I also had their hibiscus drink (Jamaica), and it was perfectly balanced not too sweet, just how I like it.

I wish I remembered the name of the gentleman who helped walk me through their tequila selection, but he was extremely knowledgeable. You can always tell a great spot by the tequila they serve and Presidio doesn’t disappoint. They don’t just serve the basic branded stuff. They carry real, quality tequilas that you’d find in top-tier spots in Mexico.

If you’re craving delicious, authentic Mexican food with great service and a solid drink menu, I highly recommend Presidio Cocina Mexicana. I already know what I’m ordering next time the chilaquiles. Can’t wait to be back!

Really like the new place. Our waitress was super friendly as she walked us through the menu, her recommendations, and checked on us throughout the meal.
It’s a great atmosphere to just hang out and enjoy some good food. And yes, the food was good, really good, really really good.

Was here the day they opened so I’m sure that influenced how well they were running. We waited 40 minutes for a table, after they told us it would be 25 minutes max. Ordered waters and fresh juice to start, staff was friendly if a bit frazzled. Had to ask for silverware. Ordered a corn dip to start it was fine not amazing. The entrees were 4/5 pretty good but they sent out 3 wrong items. Asked for no cilantro on 2 things and they both came covered in it. The corrected it, but some of our party was finished eating by the time the remade dishes came back. Still we had fun here and I’m sure they’re working out the kinks! I’d be back if I was in town again. My biggest issue was that the bathrooms suck. Tiny and only one stall each with barn doors which do not block sound… uncomfortable.

Folks this is a hidden gem. I can’t tell you how many times I passed this place and never noticed it. Everything we ordered was a hit, packed full of flavor and cooled just right. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE CHICHARRÓN. It was put of this world and the cocktails were balanced just right for an enjoyable experience.

The third time here , bad service , so many servers are walking around , like bees that don’t make honey .. we ordered guacamole, it was very plain no taste .. then the server recommended the seafood plate which came with pork in it .. seafood plate should never include pork.. I was disappointed!

Omg the pozole was 100/10 amazing! I ordered a small just to play it safe but next time I will definitely do the bigger bowl. The shrimp wasn’t cooked to my liking but I did order one shrimp taco glad I only ordered one taco.

Presidio Cocina Mexicana is a great spot for flavorful food and refreshing drinks. The margaritas were spot-on—cool, crisp, and refreshing. The horchata was also excellent, with a rich, authentic taste that wasn’t watered down. The food was fantastic all around, but the Birria Tacos are a must-try—absolutely packed with flavor. The pozole came in a generous portion and was perfectly seasoned. While parking is limited in front of the restaurant, there’s plenty of free parking just behind the building. I’d definitely recommend this place for anyone craving delicious, authentic Mexican food in a laid-back setting.
