Great setting and atmosphere. Service was great and food came out quickly. Miso soup was well balanced. Sushi prepared nicely. Not fully traditional on all aspects but close. My favorite roll, the spicy tuna roll, came with solid chucks of tuna. Still good sushi. Would eat here again.

Excellent Restaurant. Since entering this restaurant I felt welcomed and appreciated. The entire service and the welcoming in Japanese i was amazed. The food was presented in an Authentic and elegant way. The flavors were off the charts and very well balanced. All the plates that I tried were top notch and amazing. I will visit again soon. Thanks for such a great experience.

This long established Japanese restaurant delivers consistent quality of ingredients and flavours. But speed of service and atmosphere enjoyment heavily dependent on the time you pick to visit.

We have tried several dishes but noteworthy mentions include the tuna sashimi, supreme sushi roll, flambéed seafood and guatapanal con coco. For those looking for a healthy option, try any of the habashi dishes with tender and perfectly grilled meat or fish.

The slight warning is to go during less busy times such as ordering items that require cooking on their hot plate (i.e. fried rice, habashi, teriyaki) can take a rather long time if there are several orders. Also no toilet paper in the ladies on two separate occasions within the same month period and again during quiet times before the rush.

Spectacular!
Went for V day with the wifey and everything was simply perfect. I love the care they put in everything. This was my third visit and I definitely will be a regular from this point on.

The drinks were amazing, the service was excellent, and I never knew fried rice could taste so good. At the end I expected a bigger bill, but to my surprise that was also beyond fair.

You guys are amazing! Please don’t change.

Samurai is the restaurant in the Dominican Republic that comes closest (in terms of atmosphere and dishes in general) to what you will see in Japan.

Starting with the atmosphere and the decoration, it gives you the impression that you are visiting Tokyo. A cozy place, despite the amount of people, you can enjoy with friends.

The menu has a lot of variety, starting with the dishes of Japanese origin, the one i was able to taste, are not very far from what you will eat in Japan, the decoration of the dishes is more Mediterranean. The other dishes that are Mediterranean inspired, taste ok, not a big deal.

Regarding the prices, they vary, but being fresh products, they tend to be a little higher, but they are within budget. The customer service is good, they care to know that you are well and that you are enjoying yourself, but due to the large number of people it can be delayed at some point.

Unfortunately there is no parking available, you have to resort to looking for places nearby to be able to park the vehicle.

Overall, I thought it’s a good place to start a culinary adventure if you plan to visit Japan and want to get an idea of what you’ll be eating there.

This is a random but good Japanese restaurant. I didn’t try the noodles so err with caution there. But the tempura was lightly battered and fried well. The sashimi was well cut. Not too thick or thin. Fish tasted and looked fresh. They did tend to not have a few dishes which is a bummer as I wanted the mushroom soup but I did end up going for miso. Still good though. I would definitely make this a restaurant to go to when you are in DR.

Delicious, pretty pricey, but definitely worth it. Beautiful little garden outside with real orchids and tasteful decor. Good service, fresh and delicious food. Outdoor seating is available, as well as indoors.

Service is top notch and they are very attentive. The sushi, rainbow roll and crunchy sushi (not crunchy although tasty) and “udon” (not real udon but still tasty) are good, the matcha tea (cold) is good to have on the side. Will definitely have this place saved to visit again in the future to try other things on the menu.

Tatami seating (Zashiki) is also available.
On the pricier range of restaurants.

Amazing experience! I would have never thought that I could find such a nice a traditional japonese place and food in domenican republic. The flamed seafood sets a really high standard, the “tiraditos” mixed has a perfect marinated balance to leverage the taste of the fresh fish, their version of Ramen it’s delicate and helps to complement other plates like their rock star ‘Guatapana con coco’ which is a must! (I would totally travel just to try that amazing fusion plate). The roll salad with that sauce ufff… I will just dream about it. Do yourself a favor and try it! I’m fully confident you will fall in love as we did
