Just off US 50/I-70 in Colorado, Munchies Pizza & Deli turned out to be a great find before heading west across the long, empty stretch of the Loneliest Road in America. While pizza may be in the name, I went with a burger and fries — and it did not disappoint. Fresh, hot, and satisfying.
This is one of those places that’s not flashy, but it delivers where it counts. Clean, fast, and friendly — exactly what you want before crossing the desert. If you’re doing the full US 50 journey for its upcoming 100th anniversary, this is a great place to fuel up (you and your vehicle) before heading into the vast open spaces that make this route legendary.
Plenty of locals and travelers were stopping in, which is always a good sign. Definitely worth the short hop off the highway.
Applebee’s looking bad compared to you guys and you DONT LEAVE A TIP – NO SERVERS here, and yet, you STILL get treated with better table side service than ANY restaurant!
TRY FOR YOURSELF! YOU WILL SEE!
MUNCHIES’ IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN THE VALLEY.
No wonder it is always busy. And they aren’t raising prices for 2026
Cons: My 8 year old didn’t like the cheese pizza. When a kid doesn’t like pizza, that’s a red flag in my book. We agreed that the cheese tasted old, the sauce tasted like ketchup and the crust was way too big.
Overall, we’ll go back to support local business and try the burgers etc. But I don’t think we’ll order pizza again.
