Update 02/01/23. Stopped through Tempe and gave this place another try. So glad I did. Pizza was awesome, service was great, wings were really good. The gold BBQ mustard was great! If you are in Tempe give this Pizza spot a try!
We truly felt like we were family.
Hence we have decided to visit more often!
Children allowed prior to ten, though I would say after nine it begins to be more of a bar type atmosphere.
Parking can be found behind the building, but there is overflow parking allowed in the parking garage just north third street. It is free 6pm-6am on weekdays and a small fee for weekends.
Bathrooms were handicap-able and clean.
Daily happy hours for drink.
And daily special after 8pm on drinks and apps.
Pizzeria is located on mill with lots of fun surrounding the area, escape rooms, dance clubs, places to shoot pool all within walking distance.
Perfect for a Tuesday lunch, a night out with the girls, or a family outing with fun for the adults too!
The 414 in Tempe, Arizona, is one of the most chaotic places I’ve ever experienced.
I didn’t write this out of anger or addiction — I wrote it because of the disrespect I witnessed and experienced. I walked in after a difficult season of my life — not to escape, not to recover, but simply to exist, to sing, laugh, and feel like myself again.
I’ve supported staff, given rides home, and shown compassion when people were struggling — not for recognition, but because that’s who I am. As a 33-year-old combat veteran, former Military Police officer, Behavioral Health Therapist, and Peer Support Counselor, I’ve seen addiction and trauma up close, and I understand the signs.
Which is why it’s so ironic and offensive to be accused of being “in recovery” while a large portion of the staff either is in recovery or very clearly should be.
I’ve witnessed staff doing cocaine in the back during their shifts. The DJ has been so strung out he’s dropped equipment and even tried to blame me, later mocking my body in a group chat with management. He’s pressured patrons to pay $20 just to get their names on the song list — even when it wasn’t busy. On Veterans Day, that same DJ publicly announced to the entire bar that my snakes belonged to my ex-boyfriend — a humiliating act meant to embarrass me.
Most of the staff seem to prey on the young college students who come in. The DJ, when drunk or emotional, often talks poorly about women and spreads rumors throughout the bar and among staff.
The last three times I went, food was only available twice, and half of it wasn’t even edible. The place often smells of urine despite “cleaning,” the system is a mess, and the overall business looks like it’s on its way to closing.
All I ever wanted was a place to sing a couple songs, enjoy some laughter, and feel welcome. Instead, I became a rumor, a target, and eventually someone your establishment decided didn’t fit the narrative.
To my fellow Veterans: if you decide to leave an honest review about your experience here, be prepared — the owner may respond by assuming you’re “in recovery,” simply for speaking up. Veterans deserve better than being dismissed, labeled, or stereotyped for advocating for themselves.
Walking away wasn’t a loss — it was clarity. I’ll always choose connection over cruelty, respect over ego, and integrity over approval. I will always walk away from places — and people — who mistake my presence for a problem and my kindness for weakness.
Get Guinness your beer selection is crappy.
Maybe actually have food when people come in.
Get a whole new bartending staff aside from Kory and Jake ( honestly the only two bartenders there who have ever treated me fairly )
Moody Staff makes for a decline in business.

Paying 20$ was a complete waste. The drink was ok seemed like there was no alcohol.
Atmosphere was the only thing that was decent.
Regardless of the location, the host was rude. Point blank. And if that was you, and you are the owner, then maybe instead of trying to blame Me for “Walking off” you could have said exactly what you did in this response to My review.
I didn’t walk off either, btw. I stood there for a good 10 seconds before I realized that I wasn’t going to get a better response than “12 ahead of you” and no longer saw a need to waste My time or yours.
As long as you’ve been doing karaoke (You said 25 years?) you would think that you would have a better explanation or courtesy towards your crowd other than blowing them off.
I honestly feel it was more of a “Regulars get taken care of first” type of situation, which I can respect to a sense. I bartended for a few years, so I get that, but don’t alienate new clientele.
I don’t usually complain, as you can see from My review history, but man, to not own up to your own rough service and then blame the customer outright and say that it would have been different had I not walked away and then deflecting every critique? We both know it wouldn’t have, and it’s not a good look.
I appreciate the prompt reply though. Would have appreciated that reply the other night when this all happened.
I still think your staff was great. So there’s that.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
The bar staff was great. Very friendly. Very attentive.
The issue I had is with the karaoke host.
Apparently this particular host only works one day a week. I only know this because two different bar staff members told Me that and apologized for his behavior.
My girlfriend and I came in because she had a great experience here before with another karaoke host.
When we showed up, there were maybe 7 people in line to sing. There were only about 15 pattons total at the time we walked in, and not all of them were singing.
She and I both put songs on to sing. After 5 people, I went up and asked when we were up so I had an idea of when to be ready. He responded with “12 people ahead of you” and wouldn’t even look at Me. How can 12 people be ahead of Me when there weren’t even 12 singers to begin with??
I’ve been to a lot of karaoke bars over the years. It sucks that there seems to be a reoccurring issue with the karaoke host at this location. I saw at least one recent review that had an issue as well.
Your staff told Me that they were aware. I find it funny that they responded with “Yeah, sorry, he is only here one day a week.” That is very telling. I sincerely hope that the reviews are taken seriously.
The drinks were good though. Reasonably priced as well.
