I’ve eaten here plenty of times, but tonight was the last straw.
I ordered two appetizers: the taco salad and the taquitos. The “taco salad” showed up as a small porcelain bowl with lettuce and ground beef — no taco shell at all. When I asked, the waitress said their regular shells are “too big,” so the happy hour version doesn’t include one. A taco salad with no shell feels like false advertising, and the whole question was brushed off.
Then I tried the taquitos, which I’ve ordered before. Tonight they had zero flavor, like someone forgot to season them entirely. When I mentioned it, the waitress dismissed that too.
And the kicker: after giving me the cold shoulder the whole time, she suddenly got friendly when it was time to pay the bill. That fake switch-up was almost worse than the food.
So I didn’t tip — not because I wanted anything free, but because attitude gets you nothing. I’m a veteran bartender; I tip very well for good service. Ask the waitress at the Totem Lake Azteca — she’ll tell you.
This is the second Azteca I’m boycotting (the first is the Southcenter Tukwila location). Burien just joined the list.

I got big beef Macho Big Burrito at the restaurant and it was all rice and beans, all through the burrito it was rice and beans. I sent it back and they made another one. I had them pack it to go I didn’t have time to sit and eat the remand one . Mind you I didn’t ask for a free meal. When I got home this is what I got. A rice burrito. This isn’t what I paid for. Horrible.

Went there to eat without money and was told to wait out front! When the manager brought out the free food, I was hoping he had understood that I have not eaten in a while, and that I was really hungry! Now to the critique! The food portion was small (leaving me to understand that you don’t listen very well)that I will be leaving still hungry and will have to boost to supplement! Fyi, I do not do what I am told so I am Leaving a mess and you requested!

Just visited El Pueblo in Burien – it was seriously packed! I got the asada combo and it was really tasty, though the portion felt a little small for the price. Parking was a nightmare, but the staff were super friendly and quick. Maybe a few extra sides would be amazing!

I have always loved this place. The people here are always nice and they recognize my uncle and I and we just always have a wonderful time. The food here is absolutely delicious and it’s very well made. The staffs customer service is exceptional. the atmosphere here is fun and warm and friendly. And it’s so nice that they have an old school arcade area. It brings back the good old memories.
