Elsa’s is known for their bad Juan margarita and you can get a skinny version! They’re tasty and worth grabbing one. The food is okay and I would say typical for an Ohio Mexican restaurant. Kind of a divey vibe. The bartenders are friendly and service is fast.

Delicious food and wonderful service. Small restaurant with lots of menu options to choose from. Prices are reasonable for the portions. Bar seating area, as well as tables. Tvs broadcast a variety of sports and entertainment. It can get a little loud, but you are still able to have a conversation.

Ever since the wilmington pike location has closed, my family & i have Had to try the other local locations.
With that being said…..
the stroop rd was good for months until 3weeks ago. Our Steak burrito had All burnt steak in it two in a row(i sent back both/that’s when the manager informed me that it ALL comes Together in a Bag!) So ofcourse if a cook burnt it up, then he burnt it All up and none of this batch was going to be Any better! i came back the next week to try again & the $18.00 burrito that we ALWAYS get was now the size of my toddlers wrist! needless to say, that was it for us on this location as this is what we All get.
Now moving on to Linden Location-
we came in the other night, our waitress (at the tables) {dark hair, heavy set} wasn’t pleasent in the least to put it politely and there was 5 of us that All noticed this Quickly, but we looked past it to see how it would go. Our burritos came out and they were OUTSTANDING!!
Tonight i returned to get the/A nearly EIGHTEEN DOLLAR BURRITO and it was Pathetic!!
(By the time we add rice & beans these steak burritos are nearly $20.00!!)
it was Also the size of my toddlers wrist and not to mention when we opened it, it was 98.7% peppers , a Few sprinkles of tomatoes and we could hardly even see Any lettuce !!
You should either be Ashamed of yourselves Elsas or fire your cooks and start Alllll over!
not to mention speaking with the waitress.
stroop location waitresses are excellent however and the drinks are phenomenal. just to show that I’m not a flat-out full-blown angry disgruntled customer trying to smear your name.
My family owned a chain of restaurants before they passed away, so I grew up in the restaurant industry and absolutely know what I see, eat, drink and how I’m served correctly or incorrectly. this is constructive criticism that I hope someone in the right place sees and addresses. I will not be returning to either of these locations. how I and I’m sure of us locals here in this side of Kettering Miss Wilmington Elsa’s so much. which again I’ll just express even more that I’m not smearing Elsa’s name, that location gets no complaints from us… it was the best.
Best of wishes else’s

Ordered carry out. Worst ever in 20yrs eating here. Smallest burritos ever. More tortilla than filling. Hardly any filling mostly beans wanted ground beef. No chips. No salsa. Was cold and cheese wasn’t melted. What happened? This place was always a go to. Will think again…

GET THE GUACAMOLE! It was the best guacamole I’ve ever had at a restaurant, so good I was tempted to ask for the recipe! My husband, mother in law, and myself ate here for the first time this evening, and I’m upset it took me this long to have this experience. The food was so good. You get chips and salsa, and there are so many options for food. My husband got the chorizo quesadilla, I got the fajitas chicken bowl, and my MIL got the taco salad. The serving of meat was fantastic and hearty for every dish. There was a ton of cheese on my bowl, but it was good. The chorizo was very flavorful and filling. We definitely will be coming back! We also got a frozen bad Juan margarita, and a Fun Dip cocktail. The drinks were also delicious! I highly recommend everyone in Dayton give this place a try.

Place used to be great. Food portions are ridiculous. Mini super is literally a soft taco. Not even busy on a Saturday on Valentine’s Day. Look elsewhere.

It doesn’t look very good from the outside but, once you enter is totally different, very mexican atmosphere. Food so goooood. And is not that expensive.

Had not been to Elsa’s in over 20 years. The Bad Juan Margaritas were even better than I remembered!! Food was great as well. Good spot for Tex Mex food. I had the mini Fajita Steak Burrito. The place has been in business for a long time so they’ve definitely got it figured out.

Have loved this place since I was a kid. Been going here for over 40 years! Amazing food, wonderful staff, and a nice atmosphere, with some intimate 2 chair tables or bigger tables for bigger parties. Sometimes the music can be a tad loud, but other than that, I’d highly recommend it!

Do not waste your time, money, or tastebuds eating here. I can not stress this enough. This was about as far from a “Mexican restaurant” as it could get. Taco Bell is more Mexican than this place. The food was… edible? First, the salsa would have been better if they had gotten the generic junk from GFS. The chips were extremely stale. Second, the cheese sticks were burnt on the outside and cold in the middle; obviously, the oil was too high. Third, (and in comparison I know this was minor) the food was plopped down on the table as the servere wisked by without stopping but had time to stand aound the register and shoot the breeze with coworkers. Fourth, we ordered chicken tacos that came with the tiniest scrap of barely distinguishable shredded chicken per taco, a pile of shredded lettuce, and a sprinkle of cheese. In fact, we thought they forgot the chicken on all 6 tacos (3 per person) we ordered until we dug to the bottom of the lettuce and found a tidbit per taco. Fifth, they then charged us extra for the “fajita chicken” (which we did not order) but it didn’t matter if we had because there wasn’t enough to tell if it came out fajita chicken or not. Sixth, the margaritas/drinks were okay, at best, nothing to talk about unless it was included in the story of how horrible this place was and certainly not worth $10 a glass. The bathrooms were disgusting and horribly laid out. In the men’s, if you don’t watch out, you might get your backside smacked with the door if you are standing at the urinal. And the woman’s… why would you attach the toilet roll holder to the stall door when there are at least two other, more obvious locations on walls? Service was extremely slow, the food coming out was extremely slow, there were people there but it certainly was not crowded. Do not go here. The only person you should recommend this place to is the ex that you have a deep hatred for because they got the house and you still have to pay alimony to them after they cheated on you with your best friend.
