I recently photographed a wedding reception at Guard and Grace, and it was the epitome of downtown elegance. The space is sophisticated and elevated, but they managed to make it feel incredibly cozy for a winter celebration.
The aesthetic was spot on, bright white linens, moody lighting, and beautiful Christmas trees in the corners that added such a festive, classy touch. The staff was wonderful to work with from a vendor perspective, and the ‘elegant bar vibe’ during the cocktail hour was perfect. The drinks were not only delicious but beautifully presented.
If you want a reception venue that feels modern, chic, and high-end in the heart of Houston, Guard and Grace is an absolute 10/10!

I came here with a big group and the experience was excellent from beginning to end. We had a private room and it felt roomy, comfortable, and perfect for a group dinner. The team taking care of us handled everything smoothly, even when people kept changing seats and making small requests throughout our four course meal. If you need a place for a private gathering, I strongly recommend Guard and Grace.
Every dish and drink we tried was outstanding. From the starters to the salad to the main course and finally the desserts, everything tasted incredible. I chose the roasted salmon for my main dish and it was amazing. The salmon worked wonderfully with the crisp potatoes and the roasted cabbage, creating a rich and memorable plate. Dessert was just as impressive. The cookies and the chocolate cake were both unforgettable and ended the evening on a perfect note.
Parking in the downtown area can be a challenge, but once you step inside the restaurant, you will see why people make the effort. I would love to return on my own time and enjoy it again without the structure of a work event.

We went for New Year’s Eve dinner and had an amazing time. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. It was our first time here and she was very kind to go over the menu with us and explain some of the popular food items. Our steaks were even brought out by the chef and owner, Troy Guard. Everything we ordered was delicious and we will be back.

We went to Guard and Grace on a Thursday, which was my actual birthday…. every one of us was a first-timer. The experience exceeded my expectations.
Trey, our waiter, was phenomenal. Personable, attentive, and truly great at his job. We never had to wait for him or ask for anything. He was always present without hovering, which says a lot about his professionalism and awareness.
The ambience was perfect…upscale yet relaxed. You can actually hear your guests and have real conversations without yelling like you’re in a club or lounge trying to pass as a restaurant.
Food was on point across the board. Those who had the red fish loved it. The brussel sprouts were really good. I ordered the bone-in ribeye and it did exactly what it was supposed to do… fully satisfied my steak craving. Portions were generous enough that the rest came back with me to the Airbnb.
We flew in from Florida to celebrate and also visit our young adults/friends who live in HTX, and this dinner became one of the highlights of the trip. I already know I’ll be checking out the Guard and Grace in Colorado this spring if it’s anything like this experience.

If you’re ever stuck downtown this is a great place to be stuck at I had the pleasure of having Kitty and Carlos as my bartenders, they were very courteous and hospitable (walk you to the bathroom, offer your, pull back your chair). Not pictured are the truffle fries, hamburger, steak queso and fresh bread – but I did include the happy hour menu. The steak queso was mid, very little meat- but still tasty, has a dense flavor. Sides are all family side, but plenty to take home. We also ordered their chocolate and carrot cake, super yummy very moist. Will come back again

We had Christmas Eve dinner at Guard and Grace and it was absolutely fantastic. We started with a Caesar salad that was so good it made us question every other Caesar we’ve ever had. The filet flight with Wagyu was rich and perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes, macaroni, and brussels sprouts were all seriously delicious. The flavors were amazing across the board, and the service and atmosphere made the night feel special without being stuffy. Best part? We left with leftovers, so our Christmas Day is basically round two of happiness. Highly recommend.

Beautiful atmosphere, loved that it wasnt overly packed for a Friday night. I ordered the hanger steak , decently priced for 8oz. It’s nice going to a steak house and not paying $100 plus for a nice steak. The reason for the 4.5 stars is bc my girls ordered the half chicken and it was cold! Like really, not hot. They were troopers and didn’t want to make a big moment bc it was my birthday dinner.
I will say 1 of the best service experiences I’ve had in Houston. Trey was phenomenal and the team even signed a birthday card for me! Overall would return.
