Best sushi I’ve had since 2020! The Tootsie Roll was delicious and so affordable! It’s filled with “spicy crab mix”, which seemed to have chunks of shrimp in it. Only $6.95! Something I love about this place is that the cost of each roll is not based on how much they think people will pay but how expensive the actual ingredients are. So there are plenty of cheaper options that are still delicious, like the 291 Roll (white fish and imi crab), Rocky Roll, and Firecracker Roll (salmon or crab). Two of their newer rolls were spectacular: the Ocean Roll wad loaded with rich, flavorful fish and the PM15 was a crab-laden shrimp tempura dream. The nigiri was also good and very reasonably priced. Service was great. I ordered a salad after making my main order and it was omitted from the bill. I brought this up and was told, “Consider it a bonus!” My only complaint is that I live so far away! I can’t wait to go back!

Had a family birthday lunch at Mr. Sushi Japanese Steak House in Lee’s Summit. We had reservations and were seated with no wait. You are served a broth soup and a small salad while the chef prepares. I ordered the salmon and was pleasantly surprised at the portion. The salmon nearly covered my plate. I have never been served a piece of salmon so large at a restaurant. It was prepared perfectly and tasted wonderful. Other meals that were ordered were chicken and shrimp, steak and shrimp, steak and scallops and shrimp and scallops. Everyone was very pleased with the taste and portion size in fact most of us took food home with us. Chef Albert did a great job and was very entertaining. Drink refills were done without having to ask and they gave us two free deserts for the two birthdays we were celebrating. Overall a 5 star meal. Price was very reasonable given the portions sizes and entertainment.

Sign isn’t lit up all the way. Not bad. Loved my server. He was fast and very skilled at cooking. Female bartender seemed scattered brained.

It’s very… meh. We ordered 3 rolls on DoorDash and this is how it looked upon arrival. Super small pieces that are all deformed. And falling apart. With no separation so we didn’t even know which pieces were what. And the “spicy” tuna and salmon rolls had ZEROOOO spice whatsoever. If you’re in lees summit, go to Mint sushi or somewhere else.

What the hell is the point of a reservation if you don’t get sat at the confirmed time?
Absolutely insane. Im a pretty reasonable individual, but once we got about 30 minutes into this ordeal it stops being reasonable. Made our reservation of 8 @ 7pm.
Several other parties made this mistake as well when we arrived but left at around the 7:30/7:45 mark. Finally sat down at 8 O CLOCK BABY
Atmosphere is the equivalent of a lights on last call at your local club. Food overshadow by time loss who cares. The only redeeming quality was our chef who was AMAZING. But yeah.

I honestly don’t know where to begin so I’ll start with the food poisoning and subsequent nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I genuinely don’t understand how the reviews for this place are as positive as they are. We had a reservation which was completely useless! We waited for two hours. I would not have stayed that long, but it was my father in law’s birthday and that is where he wanted to go. The service was as absolutely abysmal! The restaurant was dirty. The bathroom was appalling. The food was not good! We had a party of seven and everyone complained about how bad the food was. Don’t go here, just don’t.

This place used to be nice enough for the special occasion dinner.
It was a real disappointment
5:30 reservations and got seated at 6:30
The entire time we were waiting, there was no clear feeling that anyone had a handle on the situation. Clearly they take anyone’s name down for a given time but don’t have any idea if they have the capacity to serve them. The cleanliness has diminished and quality of food and entertainment has as well. Lee’s Summit is ripe for a competitor to come in and dominate the Japanese Steakhouse Scene as the existing options are merely surviving on scarcity alone.

This used to be one of our favorite little “hidden gems” for a cheap lunch. You could do the lunch hibachi special for around $5. The floors were carpeted and the places didn’t look great but the food was always good. I went in for the first time in over a year (due to COVID) and was shocked at all the improvements they made!! They place looks so different, very upscale! The prices are a little higher but totally worth the improved atmosphere! The service and quality / taste are still top notch so I can’t recommend Mr Sushi highly enough – especially if you haven’t been since all the updating.

We had a reservation and we were seated right away, at that time our drink orders were taken. It took 30min to get our drinks then it was another 30min before our chef came out. He was very good with our whole party, we had 2 small children who weren’t fond of the fire at first. Our soup finally came and it was cold, our salads were very watery and one person in our party ordered noodles the that didn’t come out until most of us were finished eating and the chef had cleaned up and was gone. It was the first time being there for most of us and they pour sauce in the little dishes and don’t tell you what it is nor is there anywhere that says you can ask for other sauces. One of the children had french fries and they don’t have ketchup. The food is very bland and the steak was very tough. Their portion sizes are very large and you have plenty to take home, but the quality was so bad there was no reason to take it. For the prices we paid we were extremely disappointed and will not be returning.

Let me tell you about Mr. Sushi in Lees Summit – it’s an absolute gem! Not only are the prices fantastic, but you get generous portions every single time. My family and I always leave with satisfied stomachs and smiles on our faces.
Now, let’s talk about the hibachi experience – it’s hands down our favorite part. My kids absolutely love the entertaining show put on by the chefs, and it’s always a blast to watch them flip and chop with precision.
Sure, the decor might not be anything to write home about, but honestly, who cares? We come here for the experience and the food – and let me tell you, they never disappoint on either front.
If you’re looking for a great local restaurant that offers top-notch sushi and a fun hibachi experience for the whole family, look no further than Mr. Sushi. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
